About this listen

After two years and seven months biding her time on Anima, her home ark, it is finally time to act, to put what she has discovered in the Book of Faruk to use. Under an assumed identity, Ophelia travels to Babel, a cosmopolitan and thoroughly modern ark that is the jewel of the universe. Will her talent as a reader suffice to avoid being lured into a deadly trap by her ever more fearful adversaries? Will she ever see Thorn, her betrothed, again?

A Great Storie Continues

Such an original and creative world! I'd love to see this made into a miniseries. I love the new characters and enjoy how we are able to check in on the old characters. Ophelia has great character growth in this book. I'm still on the fence regarding Thorn. He still doesn't listen to Ophelia or treat her with much regard. I understand them. She's Ace & he's on the spectrum. it's just hard for me to form an emotional attachment to Thorn when he hasn't shown character growth in 3 books.

And WHAT A Memorable time in Babel!

I absolutely hands down loved this story. Christelle Dabos has outdone her previous books And has once again astounded sounded my passions for reading out the door.
The story starts with us coming back and recapping the events of the the missing of the Claire DE lune. You definitely feel the pain you felt when that story had ended Was it's cliff hanger leaving so many unanswered question. This story Made all of the characters grow exponentially. My favorite part… Spoilers here… is When you get the satisfaction of certain characters reuniting in this story. When Ophelia 1st began her journey in the mirror visitor series she was very naive very naive she was very Annoying at times because of that naivety.
This story is about Ophelia resolving Some of her issues that she has come to conflict with in the last 2 books. You get some answers about What's important through the story and also the climax in the delivery of it was very suave.
The ending of this book will leave you satisfied enough until the storm of echoes comes out. I am so excited to read the next volume. The narrator was phenomenal throughout the whole journey from book one to book 3.

Richly imagined

Excellent narration, well drawn characters, byzantine, fascinating plot, a dark mystery. This series drew me in. I don't want it to end!

Occasionally awkward translation choices e.g. turning off lights “plunged the room into semi- obscurity”

Nice world building, with convincing belief systems for each “ark”- often brutal, and always class based

Delightful

I love how this series is a blend of mystery, fantasy, and awkward love story. I only regret that I have to wait for more. Truly an enjoyable listening experience.
