About this listen

A series of suspicious deaths in a retirement home draws Nameless into the confidence of a terrified former resident - and into the dark heart of a shocking conspiracy. In part five of the Nameless series, it’s time to hunt.

Oakshore Park is Michigan’s most exclusive assisted-living community. Presided over by two killer angels of mercy, it’s also THE go-to facility in assisted dying. For a cut, they make impatient heirs happy. Nameless must concoct a scheme just as cunning. But righteous retribution stirs disquiet in the avenger as light starts to shine on the black hole of his past. Should he welcome it or keep running?

From number one New York Times best-selling author Dean Koontz comes The Mercy of Snakes, part of Nameless, a riveting collection of short stories about a vigilante nomad, stripped of his memories and commissioned to kill. Follow him in each story, which can be listened to in a single sitting.

These Nameless books by Dean are an interesting approach. No long character development, just basically straight into the plot. The shorter format gives you a nice sense of completion of one story, and you are eager to launch into the next adventure.

Another small bite of Nameless, and satisfying

Another fine installment in the Nameless series, and a great satisfaction in how it ends.

Getting Even Better

This is probably my least favorite of the first season of the Nameless books. More on the backstory, less on the bad guys.

It’s OK

Listening to the stories in the Nameless series has become one of my guilty pleasures. I reserve these for those times that I need distraction from my day-to-day chores. And Dean Koontz does deliver that necessary distraction with each of these stories. The Mercy of Snakes, the fifth of the Nameless stories, was in my opinion the best of the stories so far. The subject of murder for hire of elderly people and the culprits and their lifestyles took the story to a grittier level than the previous stories. I can’t wait to see what Mr. Koontz has in store for Nameless in the sixth story. Once again Eduardo Ballerini does an excellent job bringing the characters and story to life.

The best of Nameless so far!

Somebody(s) is killing old folks and talking their dough. Now that Nameless it's on the scene, something's going to give. Nameless and company will take care of the perps in their own unique way.

Another Fine Performance

As these stories are going along, I'm liking them less. I enjoyed it more when the "monsters" were killed in the same way they did the killing and there were intricate things setup to accomplish this. Now it seems the bad people are killing the bad people. One left in the series. I'll see how that goes.

Not as good as the first ones

I absolutely love these books. The Audible versions are amazing. I adore Eduardo Ballerini. He brings such life to the beautiful words of Dean Koontz! I am so happy to have picked up the Nameless books. I have one book left and am so sad to see it end! You just HAVE TO try these books. Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors and these books don't disappoint! Thank you Dean Koontz and to Eduardo Ballerini! No one could have brought these books to life as you have.
Forever a fan,
Krystal

These books came to me at just the right time in my life! I am a busy grandma who is caring for my grown disabled daughter, full time care of my 2 small grand daughters, and along with their widowed father, all live with me in my home. I’m tired, over worked, overwhelmed...
I never get time to read a book anymore. I’ve been a big fan of D.K. Since my teenage years, I’m 64 now. These audio books were wonderful! Great story line and character, short enough for me to do in one session. Very interesting, full of details, each one different, but with the main character always there. I am renewed and feel like I was taken away for a brief time to another world. I am anxiously waiting and hoping there will be more of these to come....I’m hooked..Thank You Dean K. A truly Perfect series !

Finished all 6 of these Nameless stories!

The whole series makes for a great bedtime story for adults. Only negative would be the narrator's female voice but it is easy to overlook. Would like to see more Nameless stories to come.

Great Adult Bedtime Story!
