About this listen
Tracie Peterson delivers romance and adventure. When Chantel Panetta's younger sister claims to be in love with Orlando Vittorio, Chantel knows there is no hope. The Panettas and Vittorios have been sworn enemies for decades, and young love cannot heal the deep wounds between the two iron-mining families. Yet, unable to resist Isabella's pleas, Chantel agrees to help her sister spend time with Orlando...only to have a run-in with Dante, Orlando's brother. The older, more handsome one... Chantel can't deny the attraction that flares when she's with Dante. But when a tragedy occurs at the mine, is there any hope that the hatred simmering between these two families might be resolved? Or will Chantel's hope for love be buried amidst decades of misunderstanding?

While learning various jobs, she is drawn to the eldest son, Davis. When Davis announces his engagement, he asks Gervase to join them as Roberta's maid. But instead Gervase becomes a companion to Florence Nightingale and accompanies her when the Crimean War breaks out....

The Miner's Lady
This takes place, period 1890, Ely, Minnesota. I checked on the map and yes there is an Ely. Reading up about it, mining for ore is still being done today. When she wrote this book, mining was one of the main jobs of actual families. Father to sons. It was difficult and dangerous work. Narration was an easy listen by Stina Nielsen.
Her books are all good, but some have piqued my interest more than others.
This author has focused on different nationalities from many parts of this country. She is a very talented writer to have so much knowledge.
I read that she has written over 80 books, have only listened to about twenty so far. Several authors that I have followed, most are quite different.

Trials and Romance of Two Italian Families
Would you consider the audio edition of The Miner's Lady to be better than the print version?
Never read the print
What other book might you compare The Miner's Lady to and why?
Quarryman's Bride
Have you listened to any of Stina Nielsen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, she is one of my favorite narrators! This performance was her best so far!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No ,in two sittings! Had I started it earlier in the day I would have fiished it the same day. It was hard to put down!
Any additional comments?
To me this was Tracie's award winning book, and I have read several. It makes me eager to read another one of her truly exciting , romantic and good Christian creations. Tracie, you are a truly gifted author!
