About this listen

When our heroine Ophelia is promoted to Vice-Storyteller by Farouk, the ancestral Spirit of Pole, she finds herself unexpectedly thrust into the public spotlight and her special gift is revealed to all. She knows how to read the secret history of objects, and there could be no greater threat to the nefarious denizens of her icy adopted home than this. Beneath the golden rafters of Pole’s capital, Citaceleste, she discovers that the only person she may be able to trust is Thorn, her enigmatic fiancé. As one after another influential courtier disappears, Ophelia again finds herself unintentionally implicated in an investigation that will lead her to see beyond Pole’s many illusions to the heart of the formidable truth.

Amazing

I love this story, and I really enjoyed the performance of the narrator. Waiting eagerly for the release of the next two in English.

Sensational!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Literally kept me on the edge of my seat. It's been awhile since I've been genuinely surprised by the twists and turns.

Amazing world and story, narrator is way off.

The narrator seems to assign arbitrary accents to some characters. Hildegard has a German accent but uses Spanish phrases and words in her speech. Somehow also in the German accent…
The books are excellent and a great universe, if you can ignore the reader.

Even more audio problems than first book...

The story is engaging, though the broody man/geeky girl thing is fairly cliche, it isn't as grating as some others I've heard.

However...does nobody proof-listen to these before they publish?! There are so many places where a repeated line by the narrator isn't properly edited out. There are also a couple lines that seemed to have been voice acted as the wrong character (i.e. the voice is done in the style of Character A, but the rest of the context follows that character B said the quote..)

While this isn't a life changing book for me, I enjoyed the story, stayed enaged, and the narrator has fabulous range of voices, perfect for scenes with several speakers. I am curious and excited to see how the story and characters continue to develop.

For the producers: Seriously though, I will proof listen for y'all 🤗

Fantastic

The Mirror Visitor series continues to impress. The characters are rich, flawed and complex. Ophelia and Thorn’s relationship comes into fruition and then is stripped away. Even the gods/family spirits are flawed and vulnerable in this engaging fantasy.

Stellar

A wonderful addition to the science fiction fantasy genre, deserving of the acclaims that it's more classical counterparts often receive.

A bit slower than the others but ending picks up nicely

Still recommend. I put this one down for a while because it didn’t hold my interest much but the ending was a nice comeback and brought me back in!

Amazing!

What a great story told by a great voice. I loved the first book in this series and the second didn’t disappoint.

The first one was pretty good but this one really gives it to you

I love how the narrator does all the voices. I really enjoyed this book. The Ending really popped off.
