3.5 Mystic Wolves Stars

What an interesting story, I very much liked the interaction between Mason and Darcy. I did find myself wondering how old they were, they felt young. That’s not a bad thing, but I kind wanted to shake Darcy a little with her insecurities.

Mason does a wonderful job putting those insecurities to rest.

When a threat takes one of the pack members from them the wolves have to find out who and what and why. I liked how they all came together to find the cause. I kind of liked that vampires were more than willing to help and be allies.

Also when the heck was this mating ceremony supposed to be I felt like, come on these 2 Mason and Darcy need to get on with their lives it feels like they are in limbo waiting and we find out near the end. Cliffy by the way! Grrr but it wasn't a big, big one or anything but it does make me want to listen to the next one when it comes out.

I very much enjoyed this narrator too, she did sound a little young but I think she did an overall good job.

Good Werewolf Story

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this audiobook, especially the chemistry between Mason and Darcy. Without giving away any spoilers, it is also a bit sad. The pack dynamics were interesting and I liked how protective the men were of their women. Darcy, no wallflower, really kicked butt when the situation called for it and I love strong heroines. Overall, a good listen. I would recommend this audiobook.

Wolfy Soulmates

I enjoyed this story a lot. For me it was just a bit sad. I loved the dynamics of the wolfpack and how the members interact.

The alpha wolf really cares for his future mate and does his best to care for her. The emotion was raw and amazing to feel. Aside from having supernatural wolf powers that I can't have, I could relate to almost all the characters perfect. It was a sweet supernatural romance. I now feel I need to listen to the next book in the series!

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the first book in the Mystic Wolves series written by Belinda Boring and narrated by Melissa Moran. Someone is trying to send a deadly message to Mason, arranging the deaths of those he loves and it puts the entire pack and Alpha on high alert. Darcy understands the primal instincts driving her beloved Mason's commands. With the help of those he sets as protectors, she learns about herself and the things she'll need to help support her Alpha and pack. When events turn dire however, one truth offers her strength - once given, oaths are unbreakable...even if it means risking it all.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.

The narrator Melissa Moran did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Shifters, vampires, witches oh my.

I enjoyed this story I would have given it a 5 but I hate episode books especially when they cliffhanger. Also I was confused several Times. I hate spoilers so sorry I won't tell you what I like about it.
I've always passed on buying something that ruins a book. I mean really what's the point if you already know what is going to happen.

Overall good werewolf story

Would you consider the audio edition of The Mystic Wolves to be better than the print version?

I do not have the print version of this but I always think audio gives more depth to the books. This is a werewolf story though it is also a romance tale at its heart. This is a bit different in that it deals with a peaceful coexistence of vampire and wolf pack that are quite friendly. Of course there is a problem coming from somewhere and I will not spoil the book by divulging it. Good narration and plot come together for a quick and interesting story. I will say that the very end has two points that need to be brought to your attention: a major question through the story gets a bit of an answer and the book ends with a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER.

The Mystic Wolves

Any additional comments?

First off…Love the cover. It's nice to have a clear picture of what the main characters look like from the start. Don't get me wrong, I love putting together a mental picture in my head of what the characters look like but it's nice occasionally to have a clear picture of what the characters look like going into the story.

Romance, action, suspense and vampires.

Overall a good start to a series. The story was entertaining, interesting and enjoyable. It started out pretty strong and fast then slowed down dramatically and then slowly built back up again. The story is told in the present with occasional flashbacks filling in the background and history of what has happened to/between Darcy, Mason, the pack and their world.

The relationship between Darcy and Mason is a bit different. They are not mated yet. Their relationship comes across as sweet but completely in love and devoted to each other. Mason is not your typical Alpha. You want your alphas to be ….well Alpha's. He is in most ways, but it was nice change to not have a domineering my word is law, you will obey me alpha with his mate and his pack. Mason has a gentle caring side he shows whenever he is with Darcy. Mason was a likable character immediately. Darcy took some time, she wasn't as likable in the beginning. She does grow on you throughout the story.

What threw me off in the story is that after a devastating event in the first couple of chapters, the story slows down and seems to focus more on the relationship between the H/h for a while before getting into the reasons/person behind the attack. It makes it seem like it wasn't an important life/pack changing event. Which it was. Everyone deals with grief in a different way. Eventually the full impact of the event does hit everyone which brings the story back on track. This is also when Darcy started to become a more likable character and her strength started to show.

Kissing, caressing and making out, but nothing is ever overly explicit. They never consummate their relationship in this book. They are waiting for their mating ceremony. It seems as though many times things might go a bit further but it never happens. It's like one big long tease. So after they are mated we may be in for a steamy ride.

Not a fan of love triangles. So hopefully this series won't take that road. It does end a cliffhanger. Leaving you wanting the next installment immediately.

Melissa Moran did a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Her voice sounded age appropriate for the characters. Good character voices. Of coarse her female character voices were good, but even her male character voices were good. Actually I liked her voice for Mason more than I did Darcy's in the beginning. I think that was just because I didn't care for Darcy in the beginning though. She was able to bring the characters, their emotions and the story to life through her narration. Very enjoyable
