About this listen

How far will one man go for the woman he's loved since high school?

Jamie: I've been in love with my best friend for as long as I can remember. I tried to tell her in high school, which royally backfired. Ten years hasn't changed things, but now I'm finally ready to lay it all out on the table. The only problem? She's got her sights set on someone else.

I made the mistake of letting her go once before. This time, I'm going to prove that the only guy she needs is me.

Brynn: We're best friends - nothing more - and it's good like this. That's what I've been telling myself since the night in high school when we shared a single kiss, a night that was great - but then wasn't. Now we're on a road trip to California, and he's surprising me at every turn - helping me overcome my fear of heights, belting out my favorite Monkees song, and looking way sexier with his shirt off than a best friend is supposed to.

But admitting how I feel may mean losing our friendship. I thought I'd find happiness in California, but now I'm wondering if the right guy for me has been by my side all along.

Contains mature themes.

Twists and turns

I loved when you think it’s a given ending but then it twists and turns you upside down.

A Sweet Book about Unrequited Love

Finally, a book about two people falling in love who actually know each other. The characters are well-developed and realistic. There are some laugh-out-loud moments, along with enough steaminess. I look forward to the next book. But I will miss Brenn.

Wonderful!

Terrific friends to lovers story. I liked this book very much. Although there were some frustrating moments that you want to just scream at these 2 and yell 'Get together already!' Ot is still a fun. romantic and sexy book.

Droll and predictable

Twi childish people want to together but their own made up problems keep them apart. Not believable. Not narrated well. I just kept thinking: “I hope these two don’t breed!”

You have to pay attention, which I like.

Like I said earlier. Real. Push and pull good and bad . Both players with basically the same issues

couldn't finish - ch 22 was it for me

the story begins well, but many questions pop up as it goes on. first part that almost made me stop, was the glasses thing - I can't believe she is legally blind without glasses but cute with them or wears contacts, if she doesn't have her glasses on, she can still see shapes and lights. as someone with a very bad sight, this was so cringe 😬 😫 😳
and the whole will they or won't they was badly done in my opinion.

A little too much misunderstanding

There was just a little too much misunderstanding and drama for me. The narrator wasn’t really an actor, so the story lost some of the charm due to the lack of enthusiasm on her part.

excellent

Best friends love story was good, good characters with flaws, good voices narrating that fit the characters perfectly, good length, lots of funny moments, a moment that made me want to cry, and a good ending.

Needed Dual Narration

I found the story hard to follow at times. I think it just didn’t hold my attention well enough, so I often found myself wondering how we got to where we were in the story. The narrator didn’t seem to “get into” the story. She simply read the words. There seemed to be very little emotion. I think I would have enjoyed it much more with dual narration or a different narrator who drew me into the story more. This narrator was a little too boring for me.
