About this listen

Drizzt returns to Luskan, and the Realms will never be the same!

The Arcane Brotherhood has long held the city of Luskan in their power, but when corruption eats away at their ranks, Captain Deudermont comes to the rescue of a city that has become a safe haven for the Sword Coast's most dangerous pirates. But rescuing a city from itself may not be as easy as Deudermont thinks, and when Drizzt can't talk him out of it, he'll be forced to help.

Drizzt is back in action again, and bringing more changes to the Forgotten Realms setting. This all new hardcover adventure will keep Drizzt fans guessing the whole way, with edge-of-your-seat action and plot twists that even the most casual listener of the Forgotten Realms novel line can't afford to miss.

I have read everything Salvatore has published. I love his series'. I love all of them. This book was a bit less than his usual but I still enjoyed the story.

I love Salvatore

Although bramhalls first attempt to narrate a drizzt book was appalling, this second one was ok. I'm tired of whiney wulfgar. This story is good, but not finished.

Narration improved, story grim

there wasn't a lot that happened in this book directly concerning the companions of the hall, but there was a great focus on the fall of luskan. If you want a more action packed book, get the cliffnotes of this book and you will be fine.

great lore story

This was a good story that follows our Drow friend Drizzt on a trek across the world and involves the city Luscan being the most important center of attention throughout. I found the action pretty good and the characters interesting but the way that Salvatore makes Duedrmont (don't know to spell his name, as I only listen) seem like he is a complete imbecile who cannot do anything right or anticipate anything takes the air out of the climax. Simply put, the story makes the good guy an idiot who is destined to fail, while filling in most of the story with evil and capable opponents. I won't say how it ends, but it was not satisfying.

Good story and development but a bit disappointing

It's hard to believe that such intelligent heroes were so painfully oblivious for so long.

Really???

so i dropped this trilogy long ago after "The Orc King" left me feeling ambivalent. Needed a fun listen I decided to give this one another chance. I don't know how he does it but Salvatore keeps these legendary characters feeling mortal and he drives that point home very clearly in this book. Anyone might die and more than a few do! I thought the narrator did a great job and I'm glad to see that he finishes the trilogy. There are so many characters and so many moving parts that i wouldn't tell anyone to "start here" but for those who know these characters this book was a lot of fun full of surprises.

Holy Wow! Did not expect so much!
