About this listen

The human mind can often seem mysterious, yet there are patterns to our behavior and laws governing the biology of the brain that psychologists have long sought to understand. From the ways we learn to our social interactions and our unique personalities, psychologists have developed valuable insights into the principles and rules that shape our minds.

In this audiobook, you will learn about:

  • The different approaches to psychology that have held sway over the years
  • The most influential psychologists, ranging from Wilhelm Wundt to Sigmund Freud and Ivan Pavlov
  • The key concepts in every area, ranging from behavioral psychology to developmental psychology to social psychology

Well laid-out, tidely presented, and reasonably comprehendible, this book opened the door for me to the science of Psychology. I didn't realize there's another division of knowledge that's different, although not separate, to both psychiatry and psychoanalysis, even though I interned briefly in the former and read a couple of books on the latter.

Each chapter is a concentrated pill of knowledge that required a newcomer like me to slow-down and revisit in order to reflect and comprehend despite how well it flows. Unlike psychoanalysis, psychology is tried and true science; evidence-based and research driven. After this, it has become a new interest of mine.

A concentrated introductory course into psychology
