About this listen

The Prodigal is a spicy, frenemies-to-lovers, forbidden romance full of delicious angst and heart-wrenching revelations by best-selling author Kristy Marie.

Arrogant.
Indifferent.
Uncompromising.
Remington Potter was a sarcastic jerk with a body of an avenging angel. He screamed good times and bad decisions.
But that’s not what made us friends.
His saving me that one night did—even if he denied it.
Remington Potter was my antihero.
I owed him at least a friendship and a plastic chair.
But I made one mistake.
I didn’t knock.
I didn’t look away.
All I saw was him on the floor.
Tormented.
Enraged.
And broken.
But that wasn’t the worst part.
I discovered Remington Potter wasn’t the mysterious savior I thought he was.
He was vengeful.
And I was the final piece in his game.

The Prodigal is a full-length standalone that features crossover characters from the Hands of the Potters Series.

Fascinating conclusion to a great series!

This story ties each of the prior stories together in a very unique way. This is the book where we learn all about Remington, who has been very secretive and extremely sarcastic until now. He is still all that in this book, but the author peels back some of the veneer and we get to see underneath the snark and secrets. No spoilers here, but when Remington meets Eden, he has met his match! There is one issue that isn’t clear to me—why did Remington need to go through the campus “fixer” to find Grant? Other than that, this book answers so many questions! I literally broke down in happy tears after reading the last paragraph of that extra epilogue. The Potter women and men are an intriguing group of strong, yet flawed people. I wish they were real; they would be fun to be friends with!

The story is difficult to put down. It just flows from one chapter to the next. The pace is good, and the tension is mostly low-key, but is still there. Eden is perfect for Remington! The conclusion is epic and has an unexpected twist. This entire series is not to be missed!

Heather Firth and Neill Thorne do a fantastic job of narrating this audiobook. Their voices are smooth and they are able to provide different tones and accents when needed to voice each of the characters uniquely. There aren’t any extraneous noises evident in the recording, and the production quality is very good. There is a bonus epilogue that elevated this story beautifully that is in the e-book version, but not in the audiobook version. It was one of the best bonus epilogues I have ever encountered! It held certain details that elevated this story way above the norm, and I really missed that part in the audiobook. That’s my only complaint. I wonder why they didn't add it. Other than that, this is an excellent story!

It's everything and more!

I love how I can read a book and think I’ve absorbed every word, every bit of emotion, but then I listen to the audiobook and see things in a whole new light. It captures the piece of my heart that I didn’t know was hiding. The narrators took charge and became the characters. They perfected the emotion, pain, sarcasm, and heat. They didn’t miss a thing and I soaked it all in like a sponge.

Holy moly, this has jumped up to my top favorite book of all time!
Remington and Eden are like no other.

Remington reminds me of Dean from Supernatural (who doesn’t love him and his sarcasm?), add in the Chevy Impala and there was no doubt that Remington was my dream man. The Adam to my Eve. The villain I never knew I needed until now.

I’ve been anticipating Remington’s story since the beginning when I first met him. He stood out and demanded attention and the author gave it, ten fold.

Like a strong vortex sucking me, I willingly went with because I know, without a doubt, I will find love through the heartbreak. I will laugh my butt off and I will melt.

This is deeper, darker story was complete perfection. The need is strong to start over and re-read over and over again. It is by far one of my top favorite books now. It had me internally squealing in delight.

This author is seriously my hero because I’ve never read a book with this much sarcasm and banter as this one. It was absolutely 110% amazing. I’ve never highlighted so many witty and hilarious quotes as I did with this book.

If you haven’t started this series, you need to. Your won’t know what you are missing from your life until you discover The Potters.

Loved Remington and Eden!

Oh my, Remington! The Prodigal by Kristy Marie was an angsty, emotional conclusion to the Hands of the Potters series! I've been anticipating Remi's story for a while, and Kristy delivered all the feels. Remi has so many scars to overcome and is thirsty for revenge. I loved that he met his perfect match with Eden. These two were absolute fire together!

Heather Firth and Neil Thorne narrate this audiobook, and I enjoyed these two paired together. Heather has shined throughout this entire series! She conveyed Eden's passionate, determined, and spitfire persona brilliantly. I fell hard for her enduring spirit! Neil was a new to me narrator, and I loved his performance of the emotionally guarded, sarcastic, and dominant, Remington. I loved how Neil gave us glimpses of Remi's vulnerabilities until eventually, Eden tore all those walls down. Both narrators brought the heat with Eden and Remi's undeniable chemistry!

Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook! The Prodigal was the perfect ending to a heartfelt, emotional, and swoon-worthy series! Each Potter has left a lasting impression on my heart! I always look forward to more from Kristy Marie!

Say Hello to My New Favorite Anti-hero!

“𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓.”

“𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”

Remington M’Fiin Potter!!!
The Prodigal lived up to every single expectation I had and then some!!
Kristy Marie seriously makes it sooo hard to choose a favorite because all of her men are top freaking notch. But, Remington is now chilling at the top because phew, be still my beating heart, I am truly and completely obsessed with him. He wholly owns who he is and I love that. He’s a grumpy sarcastic ah0le through and through but underneath that black heart was something more. Something so beautiful. I didn’t think it was possible, but I found myself falling even more desperately for him during my read.

“𝐄𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧. 𝐒𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐞. 𝐒𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡.”

There was not a single person created more perfectly for Remington than Eden. She matched his energy 1000%, petty for petty, insult for insult, truth for truth, love for love. Whatever he gave, she threw right back with fervor and a smile. I seriously just adored her. It’s safe to say Remington met his match because she did not back down. In fact, Eden did the opposite, she challenged him every chance she could. He tried to push her away, she just pushed right back and stayed at his side. Their banter was straight up utter perfection, I couldn’t get enough of these two and their verbal foreplay. She was fiercely loyal and protective, something Remington still had a hard time accepting.

“𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞. 𝐒𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧. 𝐎𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭. 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐲—𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭—𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐝𝐞𝐧. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐞.”

Kristy Marie’s unique way of writing never fails to leave my emotions in a complete disarray. One moment, I’m laughing until I cry and then next my heart is in my throat as I choke back tears.
Remington and Eden’s journey left me angry, shocked, surprised, heartbroken, elated and everything in between.

All the feels were multiplied listening to the audiobook. Heather Firth and Neill Thorne were amazing and made for the perfect Eden and Remington.

“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧.”

“𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞. 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲, 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.”

Perfect conclusion!

I have loved Remington’s snarky heart from his first appearance in The Potter and the revelations in The Sculptor tore at my heart. In The Prodigal, he broke me.

Remington’s got what he always longed for: a family that loves him and fought the world to bring him home. But the need for revenge against those who robbed him of his childhood still burns. One of the monsters is dead and therefore beyond his reach, but the one who stole Remington in the first place is still very much alive…and he has a daughter Remington plans to use as the tool to bring the man down.

Eden Da Luca is the perfect sassy counterpoint to Remington’s surliness. She hasn’t had an easy life but she’s chosen to look for the good in people. She knows from the way he protects her while being supremely annoyed by her that Remington isn’t the villain he says he is. Will she be able to forgive him when she knows his entire truth, though?

Heather Firth and Niell Thorne narrate Eden and Remington perfectly. Heather showcased Eden’s strength, spirit and sass brilliantly. Neill is a new narrator to me but he gave me everything I was hoping for as Remington. He nailed the sarcasm and banter while delivering the tenderness and heartache Remington hides from the world.

Kristy Marie’s Hands of the Potter series will stick with me for memorable, beautifully flawed characters and redemptive story arcs. I love when books make me experience a full range of emotions and I can’t wait to see what Kristy has in store for us next!

Amazing Series!!

I read it and loved it! This is the fourth, and sadly the last book in The Hands of the Potters Series, a series of interconnected stories. It is better to read this series in order. Remington and Eden’s forbidden romance is so good! This is an amazing addition to the series, and it was, for me, one of the most anticipated books of the year. Remington is such an enigmatic, sarcastic, complex, and handsome character. I loved him since his first appearance in the first book (The Potter)! Eden is the perfect match for him. She is a fantastic character, strong, smart, and caring. The storyline is full of angst, drama, and twists and turns. This is an emotional roller coaster, and I loved every second of it. I loved to see again the characters from the first books. The bonus epilogue is perfect! Heather Firth and Neill Thorne did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I love the Potters, and I need more! I don't want this series to end! I HIGHLY recommend this series.

10 She Was Created for Him Stars!!

I had the pleasure of reading this book when it was released and getting to listen to Kristy Marie's words be brought to life by the amazing Heather Firth and Neill Thorne was a true listening pleasure. They were able to embody Eden and Remington exactly as I was hoping they would sound. There's so many moments in this book that were emotional when I was reading it, but listening to the book brought those same emotions to the surface but at a much deeper level.

Like all the other readers that love and adore Kristy Marie, the waiting for this book has almost been torturous because I knew that it was going to be an epic story to close out this amazing series. I’m here to tell you that Kristy Marie didn’t let us down!

Remington is one complex man and we’ve had hints of what’s in his past through the first three books, but man oh man, the fact that he’s still standing is a testament to his fortitude and of course his need for vengeance is truly what’s been driving him the last several years. When we left off in The Sculptor, Vance and Halle and Duke and Ramsey along with Remington are all in Georgia. What I thought was a new start for Remington was actually all part of his master plan and he is incredibly intelligent and scheming all at the same time.

When Eden Da Luca is introduced in the story, I wasn’t sure of her purpose, but I fell in love with her. She’s witty, intelligent and filled with so much strength. She also is able to put Remington in his place with their constant banter that had me laughing out loud at times. It’s clear there’s a connection between these two, but the depth of it is beyond what I think either of them was expecting. True to his nature, Remington doesn’t let on what’s really happening and why he’s at the motel Eden works at… but as the story unfolds, I was literally enthralled with the path we were being taken down.

There is so much to this story and I refuse to give anything away. What I can say is that I cried, more than once, I laughed so many times, my heart was broken for both of them and I swooned hard for Remington and Eden and their love. It’s a battle for this love too. So many pieces of the puzzle come together and a few surprises too. The chemistry between Rem and Eden builds slowly but steadily…

“Remington Potter is looking at me – truly looking. Not like a friend or even a research assistant. Remington is looking at me as if he could devour me without hesitation.”

The intensity of this story had me captivated from beginning to end. Ms. Marie definitely knows how to build a story that’s like a roller coaster… up, up and up we go and then that precipice is reached and we go speeding down to yet again climb the hill to another fast ride down. Getting Remington’s truth is undeniably painful, but the healing that also takes place is wonderfully beautiful. This is a perfect ending to an amazing series. I’m going to miss The Potter’s.

Review: This is the 4th and final book in The Hands of the Potters series. I am actually really sad to say goodbye to these characters. They have been so much fun. I had a thing for Remington from the VERY beginning. That boy with his snark and white chair, stole my attention EVERYTIME he was in a scene. Yes, I had a wandering eye...so what! Deal with it!🤣

Remington is definitely the snarkiest, sarcastic hero I have ever met, and I love every minute of it. I grew up in a sarcastic household, so I felt like I was right at home!🤣 Just dirtier!🤭🤣😂 And we, too, had white plastic chairs in the backyard around the pool...so I think Remington would feel right at home!😝

Someone get this man a plastic chair! STAT! Remington is a man on a mission. He has his reasons, and nothing will get in his way. That is, until Eve, I mean Eden, steals his french fries. OH.MY.GOSH! These two and their banter!!! It was so freaking good. She could handle this boy like there was NO TOMORROW, and I loved her all the more for it. I was so drawn to this story and didn't want to stop listening, but I also didn't want to finish it. I was laughing non-stop, and then I was crying. Remingston's story captivated me, and I just wanted to grab some sheets and curl up with him. This man is too precious for this earth, and I just want to hold him! He is definitely a sarcastic ahole, so be ready!🤣 Eden's story touched my heart, and I am so thankful for her. I loved getting to see the Potter brothers and their wives, but I loved getting the cameo of one of my favorite Kristy Marie men! Maverick freaking Lexington. Love this man! I listened to the audiobook by Heather Firth and Neill Thorne. It was perfection! Neill handled Remington exactly liked he needed to be handled. Neill and Heather brought these two to life and made it feel as if you were there watching these two bicker back and forth. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you pull up a while plastic chair and enjoy Remington in all his glory! It's such a perfect end to this series!

Save the best for Last!

I have listened and loved it even more than when I read it. The narrators do a good job telling the story and giving the right emotions to the characters when they are being snarky, sarcastic, loving, scared, annoyed. Like all the others characters from Kristy's books I could just listened to them all day long.
