About this listen

I got in over my head.

I bit off more than I could chew.

And now my fate is sealed to the most ruthless man I know.

Two hundred fifty guests. They think they know what's happening today. But they don't have a clue.

My wedding day. But it's so much more than that.

NOTE: This is a stand-alone contemporary dark romance with NO cliff-hanger!

"A scorcher of a book with delightful surprises and the Kitty Thomas brand of darkness that twists its way to a happy ending." (Charmaine Pauls, USA Today best-selling author)

Someone send me these men

RH/Why choose dark romance in Dual Style Narration. Sebastian York did a fantastic job of capturing the subtle differences between each character's voice and their mannerisms as a whole. Love!

Even the best plan can backfire

A somewhat dark reverse harem with a twist. A trio of affluent fraternity brothers who bonded through the hazing ordeals later in life happen across the heroine. The Heroine, after being dragged along as girlfriend for years only to be dropped for someone else has decided to turn the tables and started a dating rotation of three men. As one messed up or a better option came along, she would rotate the least option out of the pool. This effectively resulted in the cream of the crop for men in her dating pool. One thing about the top of the dating pool is there are fewer to pick from and chances are high they may know one another. Now we have the basis of the story told from various perspectives while jumping along the timeline of events. Surprisingly, this worked for this story. There is some bisexuality within the covers of this book, and some may be surprised by whom, yet it fits with the storyline and only helps to strengthen the harem. With my time constraints audiobooks are my way of maximizing it and this review is about the audiobook version of this book. While I am not sure I would have invested the time in the story had I stopped and read it, I did enjoy it in its audio form.

Spellbinding and wonderful

Once again Ms. Thomas delivers. I refuse to post spoilers so this review is rather vague, but OMG is this book wonderful. Nothing is what it seems. Livia is our heroine and through a twisted weaving tale, we get her story. I loved the convoluted timeline, that allowed the story to play out, without spoiling the ending. I felt like this was a refreshing twist on a common trope and I'm truly amazed at the author's ability to deliver on it. This will be on my re-read list for sure.

The narration just made this book even better for me. The male characters didn't sound quite like I had in my head but were still great! I highly recommend this one

The Proposal

I first read The Proposal last year and I happily listened to this book on Audible. It was great to listen to this story as it unfolded. Kitty Thomas selected great narrators to tell this story. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it being told. I am not one to usually sit down and read a book over and over but I feel that I could do that with this book! I have read or should I say listened to books that Sebastion York has narrated. He has a voice that I could listen to for hours. This was the first time that I listened to a book with Meg Sylvan and I would say WOW she had me from the very beginning of this book and I would like to listen to more of her books.

I do think the narrator, whomever they are, can make or break an audible book. Kitty Thomas chose wisely. I loved listening to The Proposal and I can’t wait to listen to more books by these narrators.

As to the story being told WOW! It was a 5+Star read last year and 5+ STAR read now. My attention was held from the beginning to the ending even though I had already read it before! Kitty Thomas is a master of dark romances.

Spoiler

I love that Livia is so liberated, but she is a true gold digger. I will add more feedback later.
Update: I am in chapter 19, and I FRIGGIN LOVE IT.

Nice RH

I liked the story even though I’m not really into RH. I like Kitty Thomas but this felt a little slow and I didn’t care for Livia at all.

Livia was nice but selfish…the fact that she didn’t try to find her friend a man when she snagged 3? She knew Macy wants a fairy tale so not trying to find her one? Griffin or Dane probably knew nice guys but the self absorbed Livia just put me off… so only her could be happy? 🙄

Worth it? If you like RH, sure… if not? Maybe not.

Perfect artists to narrate this book

This is a dark kinky book, there are topics sensitive readers should be cautious of (dubious content) but there is no harm caused and when you have an alpha male like Soren, his ability to express his love for Olivia often gets lost in his need to control.

The book jumps around on the time line but it doesn’t distract from the story and in fact I think it plays out even better listening to the audible version of the book. Having both male & female artist reading it helped define the chapters and I actually enjoyed the audio more than reading it myself.

There were a couple of things that left me with questions , who on earth was the wedding planner, what was she to Soren ….. and why wasn’t the relationship with the 3 men explored more. I loved how they were together and while there is one chapter where we see more behind what they mean to each other I wondered if it might of softened the story a little and maybe helped make Soren look less of an a hole.

Really enjoyed listening to this book , I tore thru it in 1 day and highly recommend the audio version. Go one click. Oh and I totally want to try that strawberry cake !

This was PERFECTION

I LOVED THIS AUDIO SO MUCH!!!! Every Kitty Thomas audio is terrific but this one hit me harder for some reason. I think because this is one of my absolute favorite books by her so listening to Sebastian York narrate the male parts and Meg narrate the female parts was ASTOUNDING. I LOVED EVERY SINGLE SECOND. NOT ONE OUNCE OF CRITICISM, 5 STARS!!!

Another awesome book by this author!

So I haven't read every book by this author but I've read several of them. And of the ones I have read this one is a different kind of read. There is more jumping around then you'd usually see from this author. And by that I mean she jumps between past and present several times. Of course it makes sense the farther in the book you read why she did it this way. And you also get your regular Kitty Thomas dark romance in this one. With her usual twist, because if you've read her you know she has something up her sleeve. But that something is always worth the read. And even tho this one was a bit different then her other books. It was probably one of my favorites!

I also enjoyed the narrator's immensely. especially the guy. His voice was really great to listen to for the guy parts.
