Captain Victoria Belic returns with the third installment of the best-selling series, A World Apart.
After the Architect's ploy to corrupt the Knights, the Legion's defenses are in disarray, and the Mave position themselves to take advantage of the opportunity.
The Engineer is forced to take drastic measures to protect the people of the Legion, seeking assistance from the Reclamation, a recluse group of androids that sympathize with the human resistance.
But Captain Belic has her own plan, and blazes a trail the Knights nor the Engineer ever saw coming.

![Warlord Born [Dramatized Adaptation] Audiobook By David Beers, Michael Anderle cover art](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51tUCSEGwVL._SL240_.jpg)
Victoria is working under Lex to become a Knight, in an accelerated Knight class, along with several other potentials, and in the meantime, several of the older Knights have been re-activated as such to help the Legion in this desperate hour.
Luther has also decided that in this time of great need, he will take up the offer of ‘The Reclamation’, a group of Androids that went against the larger majority of Androids, and decided not to commit mass genocide against Humanity. They have also set about trying to clone their previous owners, as they had such a strong connection with them that they want nothing more than to be with them again, this being the very reason that they didn’t turn on their Human Owners to start with. For Androids, this is as close to ‘Love’ as their programming can get.
Without giving too much away (No Spoilers), this chapter of the story delves into the history of the Android aspect of the War on Humanity, what happened in the War, and more to the point, the Civil War between the Androids.
For those that really love the series, this book is a fascinating world building chapter, giving us so much background and history of the past, that for me personally, was something I really wanted to know as a part of the story.
But this isn’t just a history lesson, Armstrong has weaved an amazing story throughout this as well, with a lot of twists and turns, and an introduction to a lot of new characters, including a proper introduction to the Nomad Faction.
The Worlds Apart Saga continues to be an exceptionally well written, Character Driven story line, and this chapter of the Saga is probably one of the best as far as really great character development. Whilst parts 1 and 2 had some brilliant character growth, in this part, we really get to understand a lot more of the dynamics of the relationship between Luther and Victoria, not only how it was, but how it is now.
The characters of Luther and Victoria continue to grow and are outstanding in their depth, the personality they have, and the incredible emotional power that they bring to bear on the story. Victoria, as the pivotal character, is such an amazing and dynamic character, going from ‘The Lioness’, were she is this amazing Warrior one minute, to this vulnerable women, with so much emotional depth, and angst the next, it makes for some powerful story telling.
Armstrong does this in such a way that it is not too overpowering either, so that for those of us who are more interested in the Mil Sci-fi aspects of the story, are not put off by the emotional content, it is actually a bonus to the story, allowing for some outstanding character driven story telling, something that everyone who loves a good story wants.
Leo and Neona, as well as Xena are all returning characters, as well as a slew of new characters to replace some of those removed in the culling at the end of the last book, but also to bring about the storyline.
Again, without trying to give too much away, one of the best new characters is a Reclamation Robot, Sylass, whose obsession with his former owner is fascinating, and utterly ‘human’ in its manic fixation, it is a really interesting part of the story.
Overall, this is a brilliant addition to the series, which is only getting better with each new part. If you haven’t started this yet, you really should, it is a fantastic series and not to be missed by any lover of Sci-Fi.
Therese Plummer continues to provide such amazing Narration, with a beautifully elegant voice that is so lovely to listen to, you can just sit back, and listen to it for hours. She has such a calming and peaceful voice. I have added her to my “Definite” list – as in if she is Narrating, I will Definitely buy it she is so good. She does a wonderful job with creating voices for both Male and Female characters, with very distinctive voices you can clearly tell apart, so you know when each character is talking without the need for names, and she is so easy to understand.
This is one of those books you absolutely HAVE to listen to rather than read.
Part 3 is the best in the Series Yet!!
