About this listen
A revolution is under way. Within a generation, more households will be supported by women than by men. In The Richer Sex, Liza Mundy shows how this reality will transform the sexual, dating, marriage, and work habits of men and women worldwide.
This flip in the economic order is inevitable, and Mundy demonstrates why it will also be a good thing for individuals and families. Both sexes will be free for the first time to make purely romantic choices - ones that have nothing to do with marriage as an economic partnership.
The Richer Sex demonstrates that a growing number of men will be attracted to women because of their success. Women will behave more like men sexually, and men will yearn more for intimate connections with their partners. Couples will choose who in the partnership must assume the responsibility of primary earner, and who gets to have the freedom of being the slow-track partner. Kids of stay-at-home dads and female breadwinners will love the role reversal, and the global marriage market will become one enormous and wild merry-go-round as men and women try to match expectations.
The first in-depth examination of this cataclysmic social revolution, The Richer Sex is one of those rare nonfiction books that will cause men and women to rethink how they are living their lives and what the changes around them mean.

When Ada Calhoun found herself in the throes of a midlife crisis, she thought that she had no right to complain. She was married with children and a good career. So why did she feel miserable? And why did it seem that other Generation X women were miserable, too? Calhoun decided to find some answers. She looked into housing costs, HR trends, credit card debt averages, and divorce data. At every turn, she saw a pattern: sandwiched between the Boomers and Millennials, Gen X women were facing new problems as they entered middle age, problems that were being largely overlooked.

The book that changed the consciousness of a country - and the world. This is the book that defined "the problem that has no name", that launched the Second Wave of the feminist movement, and has been awakening women and men with its insights into social relations, which still remain fresh, ever since.

Suddenly finding herself 40 and single, Lori Gottlieb said the unthinkable in her March 2008 article in The Atlantic: Maybe she, and single women everywhere, needed to stop chasing the elusive Prince Charming and instead go for Mr. Good Enough. Looking at her friends' happy marriages to good enough guys who happen to be excellent husbands and fathers, Gottlieb declared it time to reevaluate what we really need in a partner. By looking at everything from culture to biology, in Marry Him, Gottlieb frankly explores the dilemma that so many women today seem to face.

In The H-Spot, Filipovic argues that the main obstacle standing in between women and happiness is a rigged system. In this world of unfinished feminism, men have long been able to "have it all" because of free female labor while the bar of achievement for women has only gotten higher. Never before have women at every economic level had to work so much (whether it's to be an accomplished white-collar employee or just make ends meet). Never before have the standards of feminine perfection been so high.

Over the last 60 years, women's lives have transformed from generation to generation. Without a template to follow, women make important decisions blindly, groping for a way forward, winging it, and hoping it all works out. Whether you're deciding if you should pass up a promotion in favor of more flex time, planning when to get pregnant, or wondering what the ramifications are of being the only person in your house who ever unloads the dishwasher, The Ambition Decisions is a guide to the changes that may seem arbitrary but are life defining, by women who've been there.

Story
Women are constantly being told that it's simply too difficult to balance work and family, so if they don't really "have to" work, it's better for their families if they stay home. Not only is this untrue, Leslie Bennetts says, but the arguments in favor of stay-at-home motherhood fail to consider the surprising benefits of work and the unexpected toll of giving it up. It's time, she says, to get the message across: combining work and family really is the best choice for most women.

At this unprecedented moment, women are no longer merely gaining on men; they have pulled decisively ahead by almost every measure. Already "the end of men" - the phrase Rosin coined - has entered the lexicon as indelibly as Simone de Beauvoir’s "second sex", Betty Friedan’s "feminine mystique", Susan Faludi’s "backlash", and Naomi Wolf’s "beauty myth" have.

The inequity of domestic life is one of the most profound and perplexing conundrums of our time. Story
American society has become anti-male. Men are sensing the backlash and are responding. They're dropping out of college, leaving the workforce, and avoiding marriage and fatherhood at alarming rates. The trend is so pronounced that a number of books have been written about this man-child phenomenon, concluding that men have taken a vacation from responsibility. But why should men participate in a system that seems to be increasingly stacked against them?

This isn't a guide to "getting the guy". There are no ridiculous "rules" to follow. Instead Weigel helps us understand how looking for love shapes who we are and hopefully leads us closer to the happy ending that dating promises.

Story
The book that changed the consciousness of a country - and the world. Landmark, groundbreaking, classic - these adjectives barely describe the earthshaking and long-lasting effects of Betty Friedan's The Feminine Mystique. This is the book that defined "the problem that has no name", that launched the Second Wave of the feminist movement, and has been awakening women and men with its insights into social relations, which still remain fresh, ever since.

According to the Leisure Studies Department at the University of Iowa, true leisure is “that place in which we realize our humanity.” If that’s true, argues Brigid Schulte, then we're doing dangerously little realizing of our humanity. In Overwhelmed, Schulte, a staff writer for The Washington Post, asks: Are our brains, our partners, our culture, and our bosses making it impossible for us to experience anything but “contaminated time”?

A very good contemporary book
Sometimes considered the book shallow but does a good job on role reversal which can be definitely seen in our college campuses and high school graduation rates.

Great book for the female breadwinner
I love this book. I was looking for something to help me understand my current relationship, and the relationships I have been witnessing around me. These relationships are different from traditional relationships I grew up with….more women are now financially leading many households. I needed help with understanding another paradigm, and I got it with this book. I’m so happy that it was written, and included many stories that helped to ground me in my new reality and not feel guilty about it. Thank you!!

Groundbreaking!!!
This is the greatest book you can read today for a better grasp of the times. It will make sense as to why so many people sense the divide among men and women in relationships. Please read this book. I beg of you. I'm a man and this book has changed my entire dating experience. I'm now dating up and not paying for women anymore. The times have changed and me and my lawyer wife couldn't be any happier.😍
