Former Marine and lonely single dad Will Hawthorne just wants to clear his head with a weekend in the woods with his live-action-role-playing group.
But a careless misstep sends him tumbling through a cave into an alien world. There he finds a dying civilization of bizarre human-animal hybrids, filled with effete males and frustrated females who are soon pursuing him for their own ends.
For Will has stumbled into this world's most powerful legend - a legend of the one who will come to reverse its decline - the legend of the Makalang.
Contains mature themes.

The narrator was quite good. I’ve gotten spoiled with dual narration, but Mason Lloyd’s female characters were well done with enough variance. Will listen again.
A standard, nothing new, but enjoyable

As far as the performance goes im always at odds with any book that has a man doing female parts. It generally always comes off feeling weird and even cringy at times. There are a good number female narrators that do male parts pretty well but it just doesnt go too well the other way around usually. All that aside though he did pretty well.
turned out better than i expected
