Edge of your Seat Thriller

FBI agents Jaines and Gassert have been called into a search for a missing, albeit “secret”, daughter of the prominent and influential Senator Isigawa. Their search takes them from the city into the deep trenches of rural America, where they discover a connection to Jaine's past. Neither of them is prepared for what they learn!

The author, Greg McManus has created one of those books that keep you engaged and sitting on the edge of your seat as you wait for the next plot twist. This book deals with several topics and issues that will make parents cringe and others grind their teeth, especially when it becomes clear that no one can be trusted. I had to cheer when Karma interceded and took care of two culprits! McManus’s writing style is clear, focused, and quick-paced. I found his plot twists exceptional and well-executed. Each character was well developed and witnessed their growth clearly. This is not a book to listen to unless you have time, because you will NOT want to shut it off. Once I finished the book, I found that no matter how tired I was I could not go to sleep; the book continued to stay with me long after the ending.

The narrator, Adela Bolet, gave a good performance. She moved the story forward through her pacing and proper intonations. Her unique voices provided the listener with a solid way of keeping the characters straight. I thought she captured the feel of the book accurately and projected it well. She has a soothing tone that made listening easy.

There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook.
