About this listen

Paranormal women's fiction and romance from NYT and USA Today best-selling author Michelle M. Pillow.

You can always go home...but sometimes home won’t let you leave.

At 40, Kari Grove knows she should be over her strict childhood. The grandparents who raised her had never been loving people. But some feelings are buried deep and contain more dark secrets than even she realizes.

Even after death, it would appear her grandmother isn’t done controlling her life (and that’s putting it mildly).

With the help of new friends and a love interest her grandparents would have hated, Kari must finally learn to stand up for herself and unravel the tragic mystery of her past.

Heather, Vivien, Lorna, and Sue are back! With the help of Grandma Julia's ghost, they're kicking supernatural butt and taking names.

Fun and Quirky

When Kari Grove finds a ring, she is drawn into a world she never knew about. I love the fact that the ladies from the previous books are there to support Kari and that the story is not just about one person finding her new powers and love. It is a well written story full of magic and mayhem but also of new and supportive friendships.

Suspenseful!!!

The suspenseful and shocking storyline in this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I was definitely kept guessing what had really happened in the Grove family’s past and what would happen in the future. While this is can be a stand-alone story, to totally understand the abilities and interactions of the characters, I highly suggest you read the previous books in this series. I can’t wait to read/listen to the next book in this series.

Captivating!

This is the fifth book in the amazing and the very addictive Order of Magic series, a ghost story. Kari's story is captivating! I love the mystery, the twists and turns, and the little romance. The supporting characters are amazing. I love Heather, Vivien, Lorna, and Sue! Rebecca Cook did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to the next book in the Series. I HIGHLY recommend this captivating Series. If you like Ghost stories, this Series is definitely for you! Even more magical

Book Details

Awhile ago I read the book BUT now listened to the AUDIOBOOK. Let me tell you....Rebecca Cook's narration adds yet another element of magic that makes this that much more enjoyable. That said, here's my review; Well readers/listeners, Connie has made it to my top 5 most vile villans list of ALL Michelle M Pillow's books. I found this to be my favorite so far despite the pure evil that is Connie. This is actually Kari Grove's (the granddaughter) story. She knew nothing of the paranormal until she finds a " Julia ring" that her mom's home movie image points her to. Then she officially becomes a member of the bad a$$ women's magical group, as i like to call them. Kari is instantly taken under their wings as if they'd known each other since childhood. I love that about these women and the rings. From there the book takes you on a wild ride what with possessions, "emotional transportation issues," & a YUMMY man. It also has a kidnapping house, 2 happy/sad revelations, Connie being evil yet again, this time involving a child & a HEA. This can be read as a standalone but the whole series is worth every penny. It's a fantastic audiobook that I recommend. Go, buy now with one click

Macro-Management Matriach

The Sixth Spell is a story about Kari Grove. In some way, Kari Grove rebelled against her grandmother, Connie by living in an RV, traveling all over the State. After Connie has passed away, Kari is discovering secrets that Connie kept buried when she was alive.

It was bad enough that Connie was a control-freak trying to control Kari's mother and then Kari. When that didn't work, Connie was going to possess Constance, a daughter that Kari didn't know she had. Talk about having a wicked grandmother. It's a good thing that Heather, Vivian, Lorena, and Sue were there to help especially with the lovable ghost, Grandma Julia to save the day.

The Order of Magic has to be read in order to get the story of where this series is going. The Order of Magic is not like the TV series, Charmed. It is the a formation of a new covenant of witches, who practice white magic.

I do wonder what is next in this series. I guess I will have to wait and see what will happen next. It is a good enjoyable story.

I am also glad that the narrator Rebecca Cook is continuing the story. I don't think anyone can do the voice of Grandma Julia who is sassy, feisty, a practical joker, and still a loving grandmother.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I have decided to volunteer to write an unbiased review of this book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way in writing this review.

Love this magical series

I love this series so much! Glad to get some characters back again. I can’t get enough of the story. Each character has a special place in my heart and I love so many things about the story. There were some interesting and spooky elements to the magic in the story. The FMC has had to deal with a lot of abuse and pain in her life. I’m glad to see what has built off of the previous books and yet this one also can standalone.

Great installment!

The twists and turns that happened in this book kept me enthralled!! The mean ole grandmother, is pure evil!! Some of the things she did I just couldn’t believe it. Thankfully this is just a book, but it was SO good!! The narrator, Rebecca Cook did a wonderful performance using a variety of tones and variations for all of the characters. I enjoyed how this book could be read as a standalone but i would suggest reading the books in order to get a better understanding of each of the witches. Another great addition to the pwf world.
