Publisher's summary

Only one man can stop the most dangerous conspiracy ever designed in a shattering thriller about the end of secrets from the author of The Speed of Sound.

After going on the run—for what he knows and has created—autistic Eddie Parks is back in Harmony House, the think tank that has been his sanctuary for sixteen years. With his miraculous invention, an “echo box” that excavates sounds from the past, Eddie achieved the only thing he wanted: to hear his late mother sing. But where Eddie sees good, others see infamy. Because no conversation ever held will be a secret again.

For Bob Stenson, leader of the American Heritage Foundation, whoever controls the echo box controls the future. To seize the game-changing device, he has to get Eddie where he’s most vulnerable: by kidnapping Dr. Skylar Drummond, the only person in the world Eddie trusts.

But Stenson has underestimated his prey. Eddie has the power of echoes on his side. Now he must follow them—into the most dangerous places he’s ever ventured—to save Skylar and the country.

Fast and attention grabbing

This is the second in the series. It's fast pace and quick dialogue is attention grabbing without losing track. I really like the characters and could surly see this as a movie someday. Well worth the credit +++++

Wow!

Rare do sequels exceed the entertainment value of their first volume in a series. New characters are a great addition to the cast and story. A lot more action than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. This almost plays out like a Jack Reacher novel minus a lone wolf hero. Eddies character is one that all audiences will root for. I really do hope this turns into a screenplay. It’s certainly worthy of a larger audience.

AN AWESOME CONCLUSION TO GREAT SERIES!

This being the 2nd book in the series as well the conclusion, it delivered in so many ways. The narrator was good, the author kept me guessing as this story progressed while delivering amazing futuristic technology with action and hit squads targeted around every corner. The scale and detail of this conspiracy was impressive to say the least. The first book "The Speed of Sound" and "The Sound of Echoes" are definitely in the category of a must listen for both of these books.

The author, narrator and the producers all hit this novel out of the park!

so happy to get book 2

Narrator's female voices need more variety, some parts predictable but I really enjoyed this book.

Loved the second book as much as the first

4.25 Stars 🌟

This was the second - or follow up - book in a series that surprised the heck out of me. This book begins immediately at the point where the last book left off, so I would not recommend this book as a stand alone.

We have our male MC Eddie Parks- who is a genius savant with Aspergers and no social skills - back in his home (Harmony House) and thinking that things are going to go back to usual after the crazy shenanigans surrounding the Echo Box in the last book.

His one trusted friend happens to also be his doctor. Dr Skylar Drummond is now the head of Harmony House and eager to start taking steps to protect Eddie from anything like the events they just survived, but unfortunately, she is too late. A plan is in motion by those who will stop at nothing to acquire the Echo Box.

The action starts from the very first few pages and does not ever let up. I enjoyed this book just as much - if not more - than the first book. Eddie is still Eddie and it is wonderful to see him grow and begin to develop those social skills that were so foreign to him. He also is introduced to a new friend who is similar to himself and lives in a different facility.

All in all I loved this series. It was very different from anything I've ever read and full of non stop drama, action and intrigue. While I do not personally know anyone with Aspergers, the portrayal of Eddie and his condition felt genuine. Eddie was portrayed as a truly amazing character with a soul of gold and is now included in my long list of favorite book characters
