A Five Star Read

An excellent concept for any seriously minded investor or business person wanting to make sound financial gains. The essentials are well- described with plenty of case studies and anecdotal evidence to support. I liked the clear and expressive manner of the presentation. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in making sound financial investments in the short & long term.

Makes perfect sense

Any additional comments?

I'm not sure why this book didn't have more reviews and more sales, I very nearly didn't buy it but I'm glad I did. I guess it's very hard to prove the theory set forth so people have to take the authors word and his five successes as prove. But the bottom line is there's no point in wasting your time on a business that doesn't have the potential to be a star so take your time before jumping into anything that could possibly be mediocre and very hard work for little reward. You can't argue with that, it's almost common sense yet the majority of people don't realize it. The other side is that Star's are more risky as they are generally unproven concepts but the author does advise careful research into your new niche market before acting. I really can't find fault in this book, it is flawless. One of the top ten business books I've read. The author is a genius! Thanks for writing this.

Mind-Blowing Concept Right Under Our Noses All Along

This is another big win by Richard Koch; perhaps his best ever. I think most people can intuitively understand this concept without reading a book like, this but Mr. Koch is the first to illuminate all of the many facets and details surrounding the topic. His deep dive into the star principle has inspired me to want to create or be a part of my own star. I think this might be the secret to business success, and possibly professional success, all encapsulated into one book. Why reinvent the wheel? It might be because you need to innovate in order to find a new wave to ride into success—and this book shows the way.

Has value but not in the league of 80/20 rule.

What disappointed you about The Star Principle?

Maybe I was expecting more form the guy who penned the 80/20 rule. He gets beyond the principle when he refers to his own endeavors as being in the "Star League" considering the comparisons are dated and may not have stood the test of time.

Has The Star Principle turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. It is just less than expected I expected from Richard Koch. Business and help information can be derived but it does not simply come off the narrative of the pages. It has no bearing on other books.

Would you be willing to try another one of Richard Aspel’s performances?

Not really. He did the text no real favors.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

For sure does have valid and factual blueprint for business purposes. However, you will need to outline and develop your own application of the information

Avrg

Average, with couple good ideas. Feeds into the start up scene and would be interesting for beginners.

PS: Author said he never visited a website of one of his venture capital investments for 3 years, but still invested couple hundred grand.

Then he invested in a restaurant business, which is notorious for its non scalability, without substantial CapEx for franchising. After that beer bis, which is overcrowded even in Africa, and on and on.
Luck could not be a strategy.
