About this listen
The spellbinding series continues. Following the bestselling The Seven Sisters, The Storm Sister is the second book in Lucinda Riley's epic saga of love and loss, inspired by the mythology of the Seven Sisters constellation.
Read by Hattie Morahan (The Burning Chambers, Girl with a Pearl Earring)
Ally D'Aplièse, in her early thirties, is about to compete in one of the world's most perilous yacht races when she hears the news of her adoptive father's sudden, mysterious death. Rushing back to meet her five sisters at their family home, she discovers that her father – an elusive billionaire affectionately known to his daughters as Pa Salt – has left each of them a tantalizing clue to their true heritage.
Ally recently embarked on a deeply passionate love affair that will change her destiny forever. But with her life now turned upside down, Ally decides to leave the open seas and follow the trail that her father left her, leading to the icy beauty of Norway . . .
There, Ally begins to discover her roots – and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over a hundred years before, and sang in the first performance of Grieg's iconic music set to Ibsen's play 'Peer Gynt'. As Ally learns more about Anna, she also begins to question who her father, Pa Salt, really was. And she begins to wonder: why is their seventh sister missing?
The epic, multi-million selling series continues with The Shadow Sister.

Story
In the ancient city of Nineveh, on the bank of the River Tigris, King Ashurbanipal of Mesopotamia, erudite but ruthless, built a great library that would crumble with the end of his reign. From its ruins, however, emerged a poem, the Epic of Gilgamesh, that would infuse the existence of two rivers and bind together three lives. In 1840 London, Arthur is born beside the stinking, sewage-filled River Thames. With an abusive, alcoholic father and a mentally ill mother, Arthur’s only chance of escaping destitution is his brilliant memory.

What a rich plot with ups and downs throughout. The main character is strong and full of a roller coaster of emotions.

Amazing
I wasn’t sure at the beginning that I would like this sister’s book as much as The first sister. It didn’t take long to be enthralled in this amazing story of love, loss, love, loss and finally love.

The way she can weave so many stories!
You don’t want to put her books down and I am already not wanting to finish them. I loved the first book and I couldn’t imagining the second one as much. Just finished the third one and I loved this as much or more than the rest!!! I absolutely love the way she writes. I am excitedly on to the next book.
