About this listen

Never trust a stranger…

But late at night and trapped in the middle of nowhere during a terrible snowstorm, Tibby and Walker have no choice. With roads shutting down and cell towers out, running into each other and deciding to travel together could either be their saving grace or worst mistake.

When they’re forced to take an unexpected detour and seek refuge in a roadside motel, the storm quickly becomes the least of their worries. A disturbing discovery in the motel, the questionable actions of the mysterious owner and fellow guests, and a news report about a missing couple in the area set the scene for a terrifying night, but the worst is yet to come.

Each stranger holds a secret, but which one should be trusted?

Nice Twists

You can always expect some great twists from a KM book and this one has a couple of big ones! Everyone is suspect and it seems everyone is kind of shady which makes it even more fun to try and figure out who the murderer is!!

Narration was ok. Multiple narrators usually enhances the listening experience not sure it worked for this book or maybe it was who was narrating.

I never could have guessed the killer!!

I've read four Modglin books and this really is the best yet!! She had me guessing at every turn; doubting many characters, and I was engaged the entire time; the plot was so unpredictable!!

Cheesy

Cheesy and predictable. Ugh. I love most of her books, but this one fell short 😭

This author writes with such skill, she makes you feel like you are watching the story from a front row seat.

Wonderful story line. Thrilling character’s with a twister ending. I recommend the book to readers who enjoy the ride of terror.

Drama from Start to Finish

I just finished reading 'The Stranger' by Kiersten Modglin, As a self-proclaimed hard-headed individual, I found myself drawn to the protagonist's stubborn determination, even when it leads to trouble. The drama starts from the very beginning and only grows from there. I loved how Modglin expertly wove together twists and turns, keeping me guessing until the very end. The suspense was palpable, and I found myself on the edge of my seat, eager to find out what would happen next.

What resonated with me most was the exploration of the protagonist's flaws and vulnerabilities. As someone who can be pretty stubborn myself, I appreciated the realistic portrayal of how our hard-headedness can lead us astray.

If I'm being honest, there were a few moments where I felt like the pacing was a bit off, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend 'The Stranger' to fans of psychological thrillers and suspenseful stories. Just be prepared for a wild ride!"
