About this listen

When Sloane takes a job at the infamous whitewater-rafting camp Widow Falls, she quickly learns that the camp has a reputation for more than just summer fun.

People go missing at Widow Falls. The guide she’s replacing was just one of many. As Sloane settles into her new home — a one-room apartment she’ll be sharing with the five other guides — she can’t help asking questions and digging into the disappearances she’s heard about. Her new roommates tell her stories of dark legends and dangerous folklore surrounding the secluded camp but assure her there’s nothing to worry about. It’s all just superstition.

When Sloane stumbles upon a clue and a secret message hidden beneath the floorboards of their loft, she begins to realize there may be more to the myths than she’s been told. The message gets her attention: Don’t trust anyone at Widow Falls. As she follows clues to better understand the missing guide she replaced, Sloane can’t help noticing the similarities between the two of them. Whatever’s happening at Widow Falls, it’s clear someone doesn’t want her digging into it.

As the seams of her reality are torn apart, making her question everything, Sloane has to uncover the truth about the camp — and its occupants — before someone else goes missing.

Good but not her best

This novel dragged, needed a plot edit. It did not have a good pace or well developed characters. A disappointment. I'd skip it.

Like a Horror Movie

Overall an interesting book. One aspect of the book that I did not like was how often the protagonist made mistakes that belong in a horror movie. After a while the choices became absurd.

I couldn’t stop listening!

I love Kiersten Modglin’s books and this is one of the best! I loved every second of it. The narrator did an excellent job!! Definitely worth a listen!

What?!?

Lots of twists and turns. Narration was fabulous! While I loved the story, the ending totally confused me. Who???

I wanted to love it but I didn't

The narrator was good. she did a good job. The book. however the storyline was long. it could have been much shorter. The main character was boring to me. to the point where she was annoying. it's not a bad book but it doesn't pull at ur heart or make u think wow that was something. when you're done reading it like meh I hate to say it but it's true. it's just a book

Another Great

I really enjoyed this audible. To anyone that has read any of my other reviews will see I tend to repeat myself. After listening to some of this authors books already I’ve already learned to expect the unexpected. Though I never predicted the outcome my mind tended to think of other possibilities including a supernatural angle or a possible prisoner angle. I love books that have several twists in them that when you think you may have it all figured out it the story goes in a different direction. How I have never heard of this author before now is beyond my understanding.

Amazing!

I had waited over a month for this to come out! And I was not disappointed! I listened to it every chance I got. I finished in 2 days because any free minute I had it was on! It leaves you wanting more! The guessing game of what happens next went through my head at all times of this book! This will definitely be a book I will listen to again.

Widow Falls

This should probably be listed as YA. I did not like the main character. She was childish and dramatic. I stuck with the book because I used a credit. It was predictable. There was one turn I didn’t expect, that’s why I gave it three stars. The narrator was ok but a little over the top. If “meh” was a rating, I’d give it that.

Don't Trust Anyone!

Way to bring the characters in the book to life. Each person was distinctly different than the next. There were plenty of great twists. Though I'm still muddling through the ending. But life doesn't always end perfectly and neither should a thriller.
