Publisher's summary

When a group of friends receives unexpected invitations to a dinner party, they see it as a chance to finally meet the bizarre and reclusive new neighbor whose home is enshrouded in layers of security.

As the drinks are poured and dinner is served, the group begins to realize things are not what they seem. What starts out as an innocent night of fun soon becomes a seemingly calculated game filled with cryptic messages and chilling revelations.

With no way out, the guests are forced to play along in hopes of escaping. Friendships fray, loyalties are tested, and the secrets they've kept from each other are revealed one by one.

Six friends walk into the house that night.

Will six friends make it out?

Entertaining

This one was ok, not overly exciting. It did have some twists and turns II didn't expect. It wasn't a huge edge of my seat thriller, but kept me entertained to the end. I listened on audible and the narrator did a good job, I knew who's POV it was which made it easier to follow if I picked up a couple days later.

Unexpected Turn Of Events….Kept Me Guessing

The Dinner Guests was a story of old friends, new friends, and their secrets that have gone untold for years.
The story took a twist that kept me guessing and engrossed in the story until the very end. The narrators were great choices for this story. Highly recommend.

Suspenseful interesting story but lacking….

The story itself was good. It’s an interesting and fresh take on a whodunit. Lots of tension and suspense with an incredible twist at the end.

The characters fell flat for me. Not nearly enough characters development before or throughout to make me care. As much as I was enjoying the story I realized I didn’t care what happened to any of them which was a bummer because the story had so much potential.

Good

The story was good with exception of the big reveal which sounded Scooby Doo-ish. I’m offended that a character is Korean and the best symbolism of that was her mom made kimchi, how stereotypical! Also, if these people were friends for 25 years I think the neighbors would have long ago had that kimchi. One more dessert mention does not create a Korean character. I think even the kids in this story were unnecessary. Still it was a good book.

The twist at the end

Definitely a slow burn but loved the ending. Would’ve loved to listen about Shan’s past.

Not her best

Good but not her best. A bit slow and the phrase “I have no idea” was overused!

She’s written better!

This book didn’t have me on the edge of my seat like the author’s other books have. It’s not bad .. I just expected more that’s all.
