Publisher's summary
"It just shouldn't be this hard!"
Raise your hand if you've ever had a day where everything that could go wrong does go wrong - you lock your keys in the car while it's running, lose control with your kids, make a mistake at the office that results in hours more work. And just when you think not one more thing could possibly happen ... well, fill in the blank.
The struggle is real, friends. It may not be major stuff. Lives are not on the line here. But it makes us feel awful... and then we feel guilty for stressing when other people have "real" problems that are so much more serious.
Yet the fact remains: we live in a world that often feels harder than we think it should be. And so it can be easy to believe the stories we tell ourselves - that we're doing it wrong, that we'll be stuck in this place forever, that God doesn't love us. We struggle to practice gratitude, to make godly choices, and to live our daily lives with confidence and contentment. So what can we do?
Join popular Bible teacher and counselor Nicole Unice to discover why the struggle is real... and what to do about it. Nicole offers practical tools to help you navigate the daily ups and downs, and ways to rewrite your struggle into a new, God-centered life story. The Struggle Is Real is an invitation to take the hard, hurtful, and confusing moments and turn them into opportunities to grow in wisdom, strength, and joy.

Story
There’s a moment in every conversation that can change the whole relationship. A moment when you can either move toward the other person or away from them. Choose to break a negative cycle or continue it. Understand and be understood or remain confused and frustrated. It’s the “miracle moment”. And once you learn how to recognize and respond to it, it holds the power to help transform the relationships you have - at home, in love, and at work - into the ones you really want.

Story
There are many things that seem normal or average today that at one point in time seemed absolutely crazy. Smartphones, Wi-Fi, and even the electric light bulb were all groundbreaking, history-making inventions that started out as crazy ideas. Our see-it-to-believe-it generation tends to have a hard time exercising true faith - one that steps out, takes action, and sees mountain-moving results. Many of us would rather play it safe and stand on the sidelines, but it’s crazy faith that helps us see God move and reveals His promises.

Life often looks so very different than we hoped or expected. Some events may simply catch us off guard for a season, but others shatter us completely. We feel disappointed and disillusioned at best and overwhelmed and hopeless at worst. We quietly start to wonder about the reality of God’s goodness and why he allows us to suffer and experience grief and loss. Lysa TerKeurst understands this deeply. But after many tears, godly counseling, and prayerful seeking, she's also discovered that our disappointments can be the divine appointments our souls need to radically encounter God.

The voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the same voice that parted the Red Sea and made the sun stand still in the midday sky. One day, this voice will make all things new, but it’s also speaking to you now! That voice is God’s, and what we’ve learned from Scripture is that He often speaks in a whisper. Not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close. Sure, in ancient times and in mysterious ways, God spoke to His people, but is He still speaking now? Mark Batterson certainly believes so. And he wants to introduce you to the seven love languages of God.

We all wish we had more control. When our relationships are strained, when our bodies refuse to cooperate, when the future is uncertain, control promises security and peace. If only I were in charge, we dream. And this illusion seems more attainable than ever. Technology, science, medicine, and the internet all promise us ever-increasing mastery over our world. The problem is, control is a "devil's deal." The more we seek it, the more it betrays us. In place of predictability, it gives us anxiety. In place of certainty, it creates more complexity.

Story
You long to serve God with grace and strength, to reflect Christ in every word and action. Yet you find yourself continually struggling to bring that vision to life in your daily walk. At our very core, every one of us is a "twisted sister" within whom the flesh and spirit battle constantly for control. We are afflicted with spiritual schizophrenia, the disconnect between our "good girl" desire to put Jesus first and our "bad girl" realities that crowd our thoughts and push him out of the way.

From an early age, Alex Seeley was told she was an accident, but she also carried the weight of feeling stupid. Labels like these, sometimes spoken over us by well-meaning people, can cause us to believe lies about ourselves that make us question why we were born and what our purpose on earth could be. Yet, according to Psalm 139, God designed us in his image, with a unique DNA and amazing characteristics! We are loved and created for a purpose that only we can fulfill.

Life Changing
Nicole Unice made simple the perils of daily choices and options using Christ as the pendellum balancer. How we see, review and comprehend experiences can extend living joyfully. Turn your hurt into help for those on the journey of faith and clarity, as well as purpose. I completed this book affirmed that every experience or encounter should be about strengthening my personal walk with God, on His terms, for the bettering of all around me. I enjoyed with a group and was BLESSED working together with "the Struggle is Real" - I can speak for all of us, our 6-weeks study was life changing. Highly recommended

Real Life
I've read a lot of books on self-development, shifting our thoughts, and creating new stories. I am a licensed counselor and have a lot of training for helping people through this also. But I love how this book takes you on the journey using God's word as reference. I will be recommending this book to my Christian clients.

I needed this
It’s always good to know that I’m not alone in this fight for my mind. I felt the words you wrote in these pages. Because I too find it hard to express my feelings ,as a Christian the world is looking and they always want you to be happy and they are watching your failures, but I to was ashamed to express my inner feeling because I read the Bible almost every day . I asked the “why questions “ ........ Apart from the Bible this book has become a favorite thanks you for sharing

Wow, what a listen....
I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I did, but it spoke to my soul, even made me cry a lil. the message was profound and I'm not super religious or really religious, but her words made sense.
