Publisher's summary

Twas the night (okay, more like the week) before Christmas, and all through Pine Cove, California, people are busy buying, wrapping, packing, and generally getting into the holiday spirit.

But not everybody is feeling the joy. Little Joshua Barker is in desperate need of a holiday miracle. No, he's not on his deathbed. But Josh is sure that he saw Santa take a shovel to the head, and now the 7-year-old has only one prayer: Please, Santa, come back from the dead.

But hold on! There's an angel waiting in the wings. (Wings, get it?) It's none other than the Archangel Raziel come to Earth seeking a small child with a wish that needs granting. Unfortunately, our angel's not sporting the brightest halo in the bunch, and before you can say "Kris Kringle" he's botched his sacred mission and sent the residents of Pine Cove headlong into Christmas chaos, culminating in the most hilarious and horrifying holiday party the town has ever seen.

Only Christopher Moore, the man who brought you the outrageous lost gospel Lamb and the hysterical fish tale Fluke, could have devised a new holiday classic that tugs at the heartstrings and serves up a healthy slice of fruitcake to boot.

"This little slice of perverse Christmas cheer is enough to make even the most cynical Scrooge guffaw." (Publishers Weekly)

I Liked It!

The Stupidest Angel was really funny and as a horror movie fan I was pleasantly surprised by the plot twist. The voice work on the recording was well done and added to the humor. This was my first Christopher Moore novel and after listening I'm sure that I will pick up other recordings of his work.

Hilarious

While not for everyone (and certainly not young listeners), Christopher Moore is an absolutely hilarious writer. Hopefully Audible will be able to stock more of his work. If you enjoy this you will love his other novels. The Stupidest Angel brings back some of my favorite Christopher Moore characters for a truly insane holiday season. If you are looking for a heart-warming Christmas story, you clearly didn't actually read the title of the book.

Insanity!

This book is funny! It gets a little out of control at times, but that only adds to the insanity. Narration isn't nearly as good as "A Dirty Job" but doesn't detract too much.

Funny as usual!

Liked that several of Christopher Moore's characters from other books are in this. Ridiculous and funny! Light, easy read!

Hilarous and fun!

This made a Christmas car trip actually enjoyable. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud. I recommend this to anyone with a sense of humor.

Annual Christmas Fun!

This is the third time I have listened to this title by Christopher Moore. Many of his fans make this an annual ritual during the Christmas season.

Laugh out loud humor has me hooked on his books, and this one is no exception.

unique humor

Christopher Moore is a unique writer. No one looking for enlightenment or the meaning of life should take this on. But, Lord! it is funny.

Whimsical little Christmas tale.

Just the thing for a Christmas romp! A fun trip through a thicket of goofy characters and plot twists.

Clever. bawdy. completely Christopher Moore!

A Christmas tale for the irreverent adult. Demon-keeping meets zombies in this tale of Lonely Christmas as celebrated in Pine Cove, where nothing is normal.
