About this listen

The Summit is the story of Mallery, a young woman who hides her ideas in a book beneath her pillow.

She decides to escape the constraints of the land of Baybel to pursue her Summit, which holds the promise of a bigger and better future. She crosses multiple terrains, mountainous caverns, and rocky hills. Along the way, she discovers her keys of courage and gems of opportunity, learning that she has everything within her to press on to reach the very top.

Mallery, which means “the unfortunate and insignificant one”, uses her Band of Hope to affirm her ideas, strengths, and uniqueness to set her apart from the ordinary. She emerges from the tangled forest, cave of discovery, and bridge of possibility strong and fearless, ready to meet her future.

The Summit has a strong message of hope within an entertaining allegory that inspires us to reach the Summit of our own Hero Mountain, never losing hope in “The Hero Inside” all of us.

Easy to read, Easy to listen to

I loved this book. I love how the "self help" was woven into a story. I've read many, and it can be hard to get into it. This one had me excited to listen to more. Great for all ages. I am definitely going to listen to it again and take notes. I love the symbolism she weaves into the story. The extra chapters were wonderful also, even if you're not looking to write a book. With her tips you can be inspired to do something else.

Good audiobook for kids to young adults

This audiobook would be great for a teen. I chose it because I’ve previously read the author but found this written to a much younger audience (I’m 60) than expected. Good story for kids because it is uplifting, encouraging and captures the imagination. Includes a journey, keys, jewels, creativity, etc. Too many allegories for my taste and maturity though. I don’t prefer to read a lot of fiction these days. What made this book good was that it was read by the author. She does a great job with emphasis and inflection skills at the right points. My favorite part was actually the afterward where the author provided tips for writing (use index cards) and producing a book.
