A Clear, Comprehensive Summary

The book is a clear, comprehensive guide and overall summary of the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and specifically the principal Bardos. The book also examines other areas of Tibetan Buddhist tradition. It touches on important writings from Tibetan Buddhism and the influence the Bardo Thodol has Western thought and philosophy. The narrator did a nice job of conveying the information and didn't detract from the content.

Blown away by how good this was!

Having always been curious about the life after death and the spiritual realms, I stumbled upon this audiobook with a mixture of trepidation and hope. What awaited me was a transformative journey. This book on The Tibetan Book of the Dead, often perceived as an intricate scripture, was presented with such clarity and depth that I felt like I was being gently guided through its layers of wisdom by a seasoned traveler. The historical context and the intriguing exploration of near-death experiences made it feel timeless, but what truly captivated me was how it seamlessly merged ancient teachings with a modern touch even covering quantum physics and neuroscience at the end.

While it is clear that this audiobook aims to primarily cover the teachings of The Tibetan Book of the Dead, it does so without ever feeling pedantic. Instead, it felt like embarking on a deeply personal and introspective journey, prompted by thoughtful narration and insights. It's rare to find an audiobook that caters to both novices and those familiar with Tibetan Buddhism, but this one manages to strike the balance perfectly.

Highly recommended for those seeking a deeper understanding of existence and the interconnectedness of all things.

Such an enlightening audiobook

The Tibetan Book of the Dead was a title I never truly understood. I assumed it to be too esoteric, too abstract for someone like me with no prior knowledge. Picking up this audiobook was a leap of faith and I'm genuinely grateful I took that leap.

From the very beginning, the narration felt like a comforting hand guiding me through unfamiliar territory. The complexities of the original text were broken down with such lucidity and grace that I found myself drawn into its teachings. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, I was intrigued and engaged.

By the end, I felt the text was finally demystified and I no longer consider it intimidating. This audiobook didn't just offer me an understanding of The Tibetan Book of the Dead; it provided a broader perspective on life, death and the spaces in between. For anyone who's felt curious yet hesitant about diving into this ancient tibetan buhddist scripture, this is the perfect book to illuminate the path.

An Informative Treatise on Death and Afterlife

This book provides an informative treatise on death and the afterlife as seen through the lens of Tibetan Buddhism. The author takes what is a very complex subject and distills it down into more easily understood terms, a truly enlightening journey that primes the reader for deeper study of the Tibetan Book of the Dead. The narrator is also extremely smooth and easy on the ears. Can’t recommend this enough for fellow truth seekers looking to expand their understanding of themselves and eastern religion.

I loved to hear a summary this way. This was very helpful as the Bardo Thögal is such a monumental writing to take in.

fantastic book!

This is a beautiful text covering the tibetan book of the dead in a way that everybody can understand. The original text is a restricted scripture and indecipherable for the uninitated, so I am very grateful I found this gem.
