The Town Marshal is ripped from the annals of authentic American history of the Old West. There is two different parts to this book. The first part is about the Lincoln county war. I enjoyed the way the told that story. I've heard different versions this one is good. The next part is after they separate. Henry and Coop goes on and Henry becomes a sheriff and Coop a newspaper editor. They end up on different sides. I enjoyed this book but I don't get the name. A Town Marshall is a very small part of the book. Billy the kid is in the first part of the book. It's about friends and getting even. It's easy to keep up with everything that's going on. I recently discovered western writer Robert Vaughan and have sampled several of his books. It is hard to find a new western author as the Western genre appears to be out of vogue at the current time.

This book is well written and researched. The pace is fast and the story has a good flow. The plot twists and turns and there is lots of action and suspense. The story is about two men who rode with William Bonny in the Lincoln Country Wars. They both settled in Kansas: one a lawman and the other a newspaperman. I enjoy these short books after reading some long non-fiction books.

The book is five hours and thirteen minutes. Chris Abell does a good job narrating the story. Abell is a voice actor and audiobook narrator.
