Publisher's summary

The Trauma Tool Kit: Healing PTSD from the Inside Out maps out practical aspects of healing from stress-related disorders and provides immediate first-aid techniques that help alleviate the most intense symptoms of traumatic stress in a small amount of time. It shows how the latest findings in neuroscience research support both ancient and contemporary methods of trauma treatment from around the world. In recent years, it has become clearer than ever before that the mind, body, and spirit are connected, and that an illness affecting one affects the whole. Because this is a relatively new idea in Western medicine, treatments of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other stress-related disorders have often been woefully inadequate and poorly understood.

This audiobook addresses the multidimensional physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs that arise in healing from traumas of all kinds. Susan Pease Banitt, LCSW draws on her decades-long background as a psychotherapist, Kripalu-trained yoga teacher, trauma expert, and shamanic healer to provide a compendium of holistic techniques and interventions set in a yogic philosophical framework. As a healed healer of her own traumas, she will guide you through the stages of healing traumatic stress in the body/mind and into wellness. The Trauma Tool Kit is a recipient of several awards including the Silver Nautilus Award, runner-up at the London Book Fair in the Spiritual book category, and the Alumni Media Award by Simmons College School of Social Work.

this has given me hope to heal. thank you!

this book has become my the 1st steps of my healing. with complex PTSD, and trauma throughout my intire life starting from before school age i didnt know where to begin, and a therapist is hard to find. ive been through 4 of them. for the 1st time in 7 years I know now I can heal. i have held on to hope for a long time. Almost giving up this time and a new layer of trauma wrapped around me like an onion growing in reverse. now i just have to find the money to buy it in book form so i can highligh what i must do. thank you for your wisdom.

Too much mysticism

Couldn't finish it... It started out OK. But got mired in heavy duty mysticism with talk about chakras and brahma and indestructible selves. If that's your thing, then this is your book. It's not for me.
