About this listen

How do you imprison the world’s most powerful supervillains and make sure they can’t escape?

The Trench, a supermax prison at the bottom of the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean—toss them in and throw away the key.

“Inescapable” doesn’t even begin to describe this place. Even if I could get past the power dampeners and multiple layers of security, where am I going to go?

Oh yeah, did I mention I am now the Trench’s newest inmate because I refused to give up being a masked crimefighter? Yeah. Total crap, right?

I was captured by the Counter-Vigilante Taskforce, and now the world’s smartest villain—Crosscircuit—wants me to help him with his escape plot.

Why would I do that? Let’s just say if I don’t, there’s no way I can handle the consequences.

My name is Sawyer William Vincent. Once known as Red Raptor, I'm now Black Harrier, one of the world's most famous masked crime-fighters. At least I used to be…

The Trench is the second book in the new Harrier series from Audible number one best-selling author Jaime Castle and CJ Valin, the creators of Raptors.

Supers

It’s pretty good considering the price. Now it’s time to work together and kick more butt.

Buried, Not Dead

Buried, Not Dead

Sawyer, the Black Harrier, lies buried alive 7 miles under the ocean surface in the dreaded Trench: the beyond-maximum security prison designed to lock away the most dangerous criminals known to mankind.

And still, it isn’t secure enough as somehow Sean Meyers, the infamous mastermind known as Crosscircuit, is practically running the place. While Sawyer’s nightmare deepens, back on terra firma, Alex Garner of the Counter-Vigilante Taskforce finds he might have just put himself out of a job by doing it too well. He only realizes this just in time to face a new threat, falling in love with the siren angel reporter, Summer Valentine. Yes, it’s the same girl Sawyer used to date, but now she has a new target and Alex is dead center in her crosshairs.

As usual, it’s complicated.

Tightly woven, this story wrapped me up and took me on a superhero ride even more thrilling than the previous book. For the audiophiles out there, Sean’s voice actor steals the show and that’s saying something because the entire cast did great. Won’t spoil anything more. I’m really looking forward to hearing Book 6!

Goofy start but stick with it - very worthwhile!

Not for the first time the start is so goofy I think I’ll give up on this series. I have learned that I must really like one of the authors and not like the other. I am glad I stuck with it as the story continues to pay off and I have grown very fond of some of the characters and where this story is going.

Loved it! wraps up and segways....

Really enjoyed the perspective change, the character development, and "marriage of necessity" in the plan. Is that a twist at the end you say?

Ok Better

This second book was much more enjoyable than the first one. I know that’s mess up because the mc is in jail but it’s funny how things get with everyone on the outside and how they slowly see the big mistake of putting hero’s in jail lol! Also the battle gear vanilla is much enjoyable now and that’s saying something if he is the comic relief! Now on to the next one!

Okay so spoiler alert,
I cannot stand Alex. Dudes a grade a asshole.
But that’s just good writing I suppose. I wish these books were longer, but they come out very quickly Atleast.

more setup

I kept waiting for a big setup and here it is. The story continues with more characters being introduced. I knew Sawyer would end up in jail, and that's an opportunity to introduce more characters. They get out (big surprise) and then it's more setup for the truly big event...in the next book. Cliffhanger alert! It's still a Batman story but I'm hooked.
