Publisher's summary

Australia is home to some of the most unusual animals in the world. Did you know, millions of years ago, all the continents were clumped into one large landmass?

When the continents began to break away, South America, Antarctica, and Australia were still stuck together. Later, South America connected to North America, but Australia separated. It kept evolving in isolation, which is why the animals of Australia can look very different from animals anywhere else in the world.

Australian fauna is dominated by marsupials and monotremes, which are not often found anywhere else in the world. The continent also has a rich variety of birds and ocean animals. It is home to 200,000 species of insects, impressively!

This book was created in hopes of spreading education and awareness about one of the world's most isolated and dangerous ecosystems.

In this book, you'll discover facts about:

  • Kangaroos
  • The venomous platypus
  • The prehistoric cassowary
  • The happiest animal In the world, the quokka
  • The stunning black swan
  • The feared king brown snake
  • Fairy penguins
  • Emus
  • Tasmanian devils
  • And much more

If your curiosity has been triggered, then don't delay anymore - scroll up and start listening now!

Loaded with fun facts

I really enjoyed listening to this narrator, his voice is so engaging, it seems the narrator also loves talking about animals. On the other hand, the book is great, not boring at all, I learned A LOT while enjoying.

If you have doubt to go Australia listen this Book

If you have doubt to go Australia because of the history or myths people tell you about dangerous animals? This book will help you!! To discover the truth.

Omg!! I wanted to go to Australia so much, but I was scared because I heard many histories about wild animals that I should take into consideration, but this book explains very well why Histories and myths are just myths, example like Kangaroo Ko, I heard people say, they will always attack you they are very wild and I should be very careful, but the author explains very well, they don’t attack you instead they hide; that makes sense, actually Now definitely I going Australia after listening to this book, I want to see a Koala.(I can’t wait)

Nice, quick listen

I enjoy traveling and have always wanted to go to Australia, both for its landmarks and its animals. Though I’ve put those travel plans on hold over the past couple of years (who hasn’t?), this audiobook got me excited about the prospect of them once again.

It talks all about the native animals to the continent and describes some of their distinct features. I won’t mention all the animals / facts here (I don’t want to spoil the book, after all), but one of my favorite facts was how kangaroos have bacteria in their guts that reduce the amount of methane they emit when they flatulate. Fascinating!

I’m not totally sure how many animals this audiobook covered, but it sure felt like a lot, and I was definitely pleased with the listen in the end. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re an animal lover or trying to go to Australia soon-ish.

Fun for Kids- and adults!

I got this for my grandkids so we can listen to before bedtime on the nights they are visiting my house. They love learning and listening as a treat right before bedtime. I also love listening with them and find it a very bonding experience. This audiobook was one of our favorite audiobooks since we learned about all of the unique and interesting animals from Australia. Highly recommend!

Interesting Facts

I Learned so much from this audiobook. There were some animals that i hadn't heard of like the Emus and cassowary. In addition, i didn't know that Australia had the most unusual animals which brings also awareness to how we need to care for our ecosystem to keep them alive. A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR KIDS!!

Great series

I have purchased both this audiobook and the author's other book in this series about African animals. Both are great ways to pick up some trivia from these countries, especially since travelling there hasn't been possible for a while. I would recommend any audiobook in this series for someone looking to learn some interesting facts about exotic animal species. Highly recommended.

This really appeals to the little kid in me.

I never really grew out of my fascination with animals, so sharing this with my nephews was equally fun for all of us. It's packed with cool facts, and led to tons of conversation. It actually took us quite a while to get through the book - we kept stopping to talk. Excellent narrator too.
