This is so much good information!

This is an excellent resource for understanding how to treat children with autism who attend my son's daycare. It discusses the difficulties kids experience and the steps their parents can take to properly nurture them. The narrator has a compassionate and informative tone that makes the information easy to comprehend. I strongly suggest this audiobook to parents who have autistic children or who want to learn more about autism.

Autism Understood

I bought this book for my sister-in-law who works closely with high-functioning autistic children. She found this guide very helpful as it does a great job of providing strategies for working with these children to help developer their social and emotional skills. Now she understands more about sensory overload from this book, my sister-in-law has been able to implement some of the strategies outlined, which has significantly improved her relationships with the autistic children she works with.

Maureen's offers great advice and strategies on how to communicate with the child and offers tips on how to help them be successful in their day to day lives. This guide takes some of the stress away and provides effective strategies for managing everyday living with a high-functioning autistic individual. Highly recommended!

Special needs

I know a family with a high functioning autistic child that is now in his 20’s. The grandparents are taking care of him. It really is a gut punch when you think you have it bad and than you someone dealing with autism everyday. If you have low moments, just read this book and focus and take care of this child.

home away from home

This book was very eye-opening from top to bottom. The part I would like to highlight is choosing the right school. This is so important being that we are not with our children while they are away. Our parental instincts are to protect our child at all times but what happens when our autistic children go out into the real world and must fit in with their peers. There was a lot of insight into how to choose the proper school to send them to. Very helpful book overall.
