About this listen

The unabridged digital audio edition of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, book five in the classic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, narrated by Emmy Award-winning actor Derek Jacobi.

The Dawn Treader is the first ship Narnia has seen in centuries. King Caspian has built it for his first voyage to find the seven lords, good men whom his evil uncle Miraz banished when he usurped the throne. The journey takes Edmund, Lucy, their cousin Eustace, and Caspian to the Eastern Islands, beyond the Silver Sea, toward Aslan's country at the End of the World.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the fifth book in C. S. Lewis's classic fantasy series, a series that has been drawing readers of all ages into a magical land with unforgettable characters for over sixty years. This is a novel that stands on its own, but if you would like to continue to the journey, check out The Silver Chair, the sixth book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

Imagine jumping from a room into a boat in a painting and joining the voyage of the Dawn Treader to the ends of the world. The adventures, the perils and the life lessons learned as well as the tests of friendship are superb. C.S. Lewis at his storytelling best!

Another strong contender

While Dawn Treader is a single, self-contained novel in the Narnian series, it seems like a collection of wonderful stories in itself. The "voyage" takes the characters all over, into and through many different countries: various and distinct.

I also commend the reader, Derek Jacobi, on an excellent performance. Thank you for capturing the spirit of the world and writing of Lewis.

I recommend this book to all readers of Lewis's fiction and nonfiction.

Marvelous collection!

....on a desert island with me, C.S. Lewis would be in the running because of The Chronicles of Narnia. While Derek Jacobi is not my favorite narrator, his whimsical style suits this charming chapter of the adventures of Narnians and humans. Endlessly captivating, suitable for children and adults alike, you cannot go wrong with any selection from this series of books. AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY

I loved this book just like the rest! I have read and seen all the movies and this is one of my favorites! There was nothing I disliked about the book and recommend this to all who love adventures and medieval books! There is also plenty of magic (good magic) and not very much fighting, if I could rate higher then five stars I would rate in the millions!

Love it!

I can identify that there's a lot of scenes or parts that are not included on the movie. But it's fine. The story is still good. The narrator is good as well.

Good listen.
