About this listen

Jason Alberich wears the crown of the sovereign of the warlocks, a dark breed that uses darker magic. He wears it well, skillfully wielding a power that would corrupt others. Yet he has paid the price for his control, bearing the scars of a time when his power had control over him. He is haunted by the regrets of a shady past and now lives each day and night with an isolated soul.

Chloe Septeran is an Akyri like no other. A member of a race that must depend upon warlocks for sustenance in exchange for servitude, Chloe runs from the dark magic users, choosing instead to live free of their hold. She has existed empty and "hungry," but stubbornly free of the warlock's dark embrace. However, now the fates have chosen to bring her running to a halt, as the thirteen Kings each discover their queens - and the Warlock King discovers his.

A mighty power is awakening, wreaking havoc on the supernatural world. The thirteen Kings, their queens, the werewolf nation, and the witch covens with their high leader, Lalura Chantelle, must band together and stand strong in the face of a dawning nightmare that threatens the very fabric of all they hold dear...and from which none may escape.

A TRULY GREAT ROYAL PARANORMAL ROMANCE

These books are like watching a TV chef but with the sound off and they're creating something wonderful but you've got no idea what it is or what the next ingredient is, or what's going to happen next or what it's eventually going to be - all you can do is just enjoy the picture, suck up the entertainment factor, hold on and wait for the eventual outcome.

There are so many different supernaturals involved in these riveting plots that centre around the 13 Kings all trying to find and keep hold of the one woman that can become their Queens. There's thrills, romance, hot alpha Kings, a little sex and plenty of "well I didn't see that one coming" moments.

They're not really stand alone books so start at the beginning and let Antony Ferguson whisk you away to la la land.

Worth a credit? If you're a paranormal romance fan you should be jumping on this series - so it's a YES from me and I'm looking forward to the next one - The Goblin King and I realise that this series is going to cost me at least 13 credits and, so far, I'm quite happy to do so.

Romance 2 stars. Fantasy story 4 stars.

This is my third king series novel. The overall plot of the magical king’s narrative is drawing on to further books. But the failings of the love story between the kings and queens is a big drawback for anyone reading theses tales as a romance title.

Female leads

I wish that the women could just be a little tougher. I would love any queen that has that butt kicking mentality like she could actually physically hold her own in a fight. I really hate weak female characters.

Awesome series

this wasn't my favorite in the series (hence the 4 stars) but it's still worth reading since the books are all fantastic.

Great story!

Again, a great story. Glad there was no filler in the middle as there seemed to be in the previous book The Phantom King (not much, just a little). Very little dialogue in these books which I do miss but the story is still very good. The passion is a bit lacking and there is one sex scene towards the end. Which seems par for the course in this series

I will tell you, these books are NOT stand alone at all. You cannot just pick up the 3rd book or any book in this series and know what is going on if you don't start at the beginning with the Vampire King. All these books are cliffhangers, and currently only the first 4 are available.

Narration was very good.
Credit Worthy? YES.

AS ALWAYS HEATHER NEVER DISAPPOINTS.

I've read all her books several times this is first time listening to them on Audible which I can tell you is just as good as reading them myself. if you're new to Heather and her books I suggest reading the Big Bad Wolf series first. that way you'll know some of the characters in The King's Series. such as the Overseer. But all her books are great and has led to another spin off which I am patiently waiting for next book in series. ENJOY!!!

No Main Character Develolpment

The potential is there but this book is all over the place. It bounces from character to character and rarely focuses on the main characters. In the end I have no idea who the main hero is (as a person) because so little time was spent on his character development. I find myself frustrated and never satisfied and in the end I just waited for the book to end.

The other two books all seem to have a lack of well developed characters as well.

I bought this series at a discount so I will finish it because it does have entertainment value but I would not recommend spending a credit or full price.

I'm done with this series

I keep thinking this series is going to get better, but it isn't. The author spends very little time on the main characters and the majority of the book on supporting characters and other pointless story lines. I thought the first book did it to establish the setting and characters, but the second book did it too and this book was the absolute worst!!! There was very little interaction between the two main characters at all and absolutely no character development. There isn't even a good plot to make up for it. It was basically a book of all filler and no real content. I kept zoning out because what was going on had little to do with story. I had to force myself to finish the book over and over again. I have never wanted a book to end so badly.
