Live the truth...

The truth about Hallie has torn Houston and Rory apart for a second time. Houston is finally unburdened of the secret his sister confided in him, but now he must deal with the aftermath.

He has vowed to set things right for Rory, and he's determined to get her back. But the destruction left in the wake of Hallie's letter is not the only obstacle he must face. Houston must find a way to win Rory back by showing her their story isn't over yet.

...or live the lie.

In her desperation to move past the anguish of Hallie's secret and Houston's lies, Rory seeks solace in Liam. When Liam is transferred to another tech company in California, Rory jumps at his invitation to leave Portland, and her broken heart, behind. In California, Rory finds a friend who opens new doors for her in the literary world. But does this new friend have ulterior motives?

Rory is annoying but Houston stole my heart!

Any additional comments?

I was really excited to hear more of Rory's story, except I def enjoyed book #1 The Way We Fall better than this one. I did feel like Houston and Rory's story has dragged on and with Rory choosing Liam to wisk her away.... it was annoying. I guess I just really have a soft spot for Houston, as what he has endured in this whole "story" was more than enough for him to handle. I feel as though Rory thinks she is the only one that endured an awful death and affair- and that no one has the right to be upset or grieve. Houston lost his sister, and in than turn lost the love of his life. The poor guy even has to deal with a crazy wife, and has to handle Rory on the side. I don't know, Houston has my heart 100%.
There is a HEA, it just took a long time to get there.
Over all, Cassia Leo is a great writer, probably one of my favorite.
The narrators were fabulous- and Erin Mallon and Lee Samuels are pretty good- I've listened to them many times before and they always brings the characters to life.

As good as the first book

This 2nd book was as good as the first. I really enjoyed listening to them. A cliffhanger which I hate I can not wait for the 3rd book. A must read or listen

Good

This was a good 2nd book to this series. Stop being so stupid Rory. You and Houston need to get it together.

The story continues

The story of Rory and Houston continue and more secrets come to light. Rory continues to attempt to distance herself from Houston by moving to California with Liam who happens to have some secrets of his own and a little darkness to him that Rory didn't know. I think one of things I take away from this book is that the things you are running from may cause you to run into somo of the things you don't want as well. Rory didn't think some things out very well and it has in turn caused her more angst and she will now have to get through that as well. Liam is definitely not the person she thought he was. Nice follow up to book 1.

Cliffhanger

Would you listen to The Way We Break again? Why?

Might. I'm ok with the story line. Erin Mallon is not my favorite narrator. I have to prepare myself to listen to her.

What does Erin Mallon and Lee Samuels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Erin Mallon is not my favorite narrator. I find myself skipping pages in the books she reads. Lee is pretty good

Any additional comments?

Cliffhanger and narrators are the two things I look into first before choosing a book. I wasn't aware this was a cliffhanger. I don't like to wait. If the entire series is out I will purchase the book. The book was ok. I would listen to it again if I'm bored. As of today book 3 is not out. If all of this author's books have cliffhangers I don't think I will be listening to anymore of her books

Another Part of their Story

At the end of book one, readers were left up in the air. Now this picks up right where it ended. Good pacing, a solid plot and nothing boring about this story - with all the twists and turns, there's still a lot going on. And of course, this book ends in a cliffhanger. While I liked book one best, this book was good too and I'm eager to read the next book which is the final.

Cassia Leo writes characters with emotion, characters we can relate too. That's why she's a go-to author for me. Add in the good narration and her book on audio is a great listening experience.

Drivel

The main character Rory is a whining disappointment. I hope there isn’t a 3rd book.
