About this listen

Warm beds, quaint mysteries, and the best rosemary bread this side of Pigsend Creek. Welcome to the Weary Dragon Inn. Bev may not know who she was before she showed up in the quaint village of Pigsend five years ago, but that doesn’t bother her much. She’s made a tidy little life for herself as the proprietor of the Weary Dragon Inn, where the most notable event is when she makes her famous rosemary bread.

But when earthquakes and sinkholes start appearing all over town, including near Bev’s front door, she’s got to put on her sleuthing hat to figure out what—or who—might be causing them before the entire town disappears.

cozy fantasy mysteries

This is a wonderful series with charming and inclusive characters. I had so much fun discovering the mysterious happenings in the village of Pigs End with the caring, clever inn keeper Bev while learning more about her forgotten past! I immediately got the next three books in the series I'm so excited to in this world!

Great cozy fantasy with some pleasant surprises and representation

I love the cozy fantasy genre, and this series kept popping up in my recs. I’m glad I took a chance on it. It’s very low stakes, but includes some quaint mysteries. The characters really start to grow on you. The pacing is a little slow, but give it a shot and you’ll get more used to it, and enjoy being immersed in the world of Pig’s End.

ALSO…What a pleasant surprise that this story features not one, but TWO queer characters that are integral to the story. It’s not done in an “in your face way”, and was almost so subtle that it took me a few chapters to realize that these were two women married…to each other. It’s done in a very refreshing way. It’s not about them being gay, it’s about them being human like everyone else (what a concept!). Nobody bats an eye, and it just is.

Give this one a chance if cozy fantasy is your jam.

3 great cozy stories.

A fantastic listen, narrator did a great job. The stories have me wanting more, the characters are all unique and fun to get to know throughout the stories.

Comfort and entertainment

Beautiful written and well read. Low stakes but keeps you committed until the end. The world created is comforting and a little magical. Can’t wait for more!

Cozy quick fantasy read

This is a cute trilogy, that is cozy and high fantasy enough to keep your interest. It is definitely low stakes and more of a chill read than most books. I appreciate it for what it is which is cute and cozy!

Story flowing despite not being action-packed

I enjoyed the small town, quirky characters, and stories. The mysteries were fun! Will continue.

Cozy listening

A good cozy listen. Made for adults but could listen with kids as well. Pacing is fairly good overall, though the 3rd book was a bit tedious though due more to the limitations of the setting (snowed in). When I need a palate cleanser I'll continue this series.

Not very exciting

Reading like a cross between a fairytale and a cozy this set of books failed to capture and hold my interest. Not much happens so I am going to abandon it halfway through the second novel.

Interesting Enough Story

I found the Stories book 1-3 interesting and amusing. In each of the 3 stories the main character Bev is put in a position of solving a mystery she feels whole out of her abilities to do, but everyone expects it of her. So not a Cosy Mystery just a mystery set in this world and town of Pig's End.
Narrator does a pleasent job with the entire storyline and the various characters.

Soporific

This doesn’t deserve a review. It a boring meandering plodding smth. A monotonous narrator doesn’t help.
