About this listen

Tamlin Ashowan has troubled his family for years. Between the fearfulness of his magic and his refusal to share exactly what it does, his loving parents and sister don’t know how best to guide him. Tam, on the other hand, insists he doesn’t need any assistance. Despite ignoring his magic and possessing a preference for remaining locked up in his room with a good book, Tam is determined to play his role as the heir to his dukedom to the best of his ability. But being the son of Finlay Ashowan, the famous hero of Daxaria, his life is prone to chaos.

Will a new assistant, who has even more secrets than Tam himself, be able to help navigate Tam's endless responsibilities? Will all chaos break out thanks to the unstable kingdom of Zinfera? And lastly, can Tam handle everything without having to use his magical power, or will he be pushed to new limits as his fate rushes to meet him?

Find the answer to these questions and more in the new trilogy set in the same universe as The House Witch series, The Princess of Potential, and The Burning Witch series. There's no need to listen to the previous books to enjoy the new, fun adventure. Feel free to jump right in!

Exciting, funny, and lovable characters! This series does not disappoint. So happy to continue the series, but sad that now I have to wait. I would recommend this series to anyone!

can't wait for book 2

I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series and this is no exception, but Tamlin Ashowan has always been a more serious character and that definitely impacts the tone of this book. Though we get brief glimpses of some of the wackiest friends and relatives at the beginning of the book, Tamlin soon embarks on a journey and the silliness that made the previous books so fun is dialed way down. Tamlin definitely takes after his mother more than his father in the way he deals with conflict.

We finally learn what Tamlin’s witch power is, and to be honest I was a little disappointed. It was a secret for so long, hidden even from his parents and his twin, I was really expecting something a lot more terrifying/horrifying than what it turned out to be. I dunno.

I was a bit spoiled in that I came into this series when the Burning Witch trilogy was almost finished so I was able to just binge the whole series. As such, I don’t remember whether they ended on cliffhangers, but HOLY HELL this one sure does. I’m simultaneously thrilled and really perturbed at the author for doing this to me.

Watch out for that CLIFFHANGER!

I have been waiting for the release of this audible book for too long. I had so many guesses on where the storyline was going and was pleasantly surprised when I was wrong. I highly recommend everything from Delemhach if you like romantic comedy or adventure.

Amazing

Another superb book and my only disappointment is it’s over. I was excited to see the evolution of this character from the previous books. The narrator was as transformative as he was in the earlier books and I am beyond thrilled he continued.

Love it!!!
