About this listen

What happens when the sunshiny pop princess and the grumpy football player discover there's more to this fake romance than inspiration for a new love song?

Kelsey Best is America's pop sweetheart, and anyone who says they don't like her music is a liar and needs to be punched in the nads. And I'll do it, too, because I'm the guy the NFL dubbed the meanest player in the league. It's great for my career on the field, but not so much for my reputation off it. So I'm shocked as hell when Kelsey's team sends my agent a wild idea—they want a showmance between us. She's looking to dodge the media frenzy after her breakup with Hollywood's latest heartthrob, and I apparently fit the bill as her perfect distraction. My agent is convinced this fake dating stunt is the key to fixing my image. But what happens when I fall for her? The whole world is going to hate me when we fake break up. But she's going to create a blank space in my heart, and I don't think I'm going to be able to shake it off.

This plus-size curvy-girl romance features a burnt-cinnamon-roll hero with a mean protective streak and a baddie plus-size pop star on the verge of burn out. But a Bridgertons-meets-American-Football family you'll wish you were a part of will make sure they get their happy ever after.

I love it and I can't wait for the next one

I loved the character depths and the consistent feeling of being able to put yourself in each charters shoes. Keep these books coming! 💯🔥

I need a Declan!!

Nice, sweet romance! No violence and animal pets that are so darn cute! I’m hoping Penelope gets her story!😊

So much fun!

First up, if Jacob Morgan reads it, I'm gonna buy it - that's a no-brainer. Some of my favourite books he's narrated are ones featuring drunk women, cheeky teenagers, cats, kids, and brotherly insults. The Kingman brothers in this book are hilarious, and it certainly doesn't hurt that the storyline is adjacent to a certain real world famous singer and her football boyfriend.

This story is a delight from start to finish. The parallel inner monologues about each other, the slow-burn development of the story, the family banter, and it's all so wonderfully narrated. Stella Hunter is wonderful as Kelsey, her peppy public-facing voice versus the sometimes tired and vulnerable woman in private. She also does a great lower register when she's narrating the male dialogue. Jacob is a long-time favourite of mine because c'mon, that voice and delivery. I was snuffling with laughter at some of the lines at the start of the book, and I was hooked from that point on.

This is the first book in the series that I've tried, and I'm enjoying it so much that I'm going to getting the rest. The titles made me grin when I saw them all too, and curvy FMCs? SO GOOD.

Get it, love it, you're welcome.

Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
5.0

I loved this! It's a great quick, light read, full of body positivity, and spice! The fat woman gets the big man. I loved Wiener the Pooh, LOL, such a cute little pup. Plus, all the T. Swift references. It also had a decent plot, so it wasn't pointless fluff, but still spicy fluffy.

Good, but not as fun as the first one

I gotta say I was kinda disappointed with this- the first one was sooo funny, sweet, and engaging, I was really hoping this would be too, but it wasn't. The insta- love in this was not believable for me- maybe insta- lust/desire/attraction, but the deep love they were trying to sell here was not possible in a week, sorry. The dog was great, best part of the book- I laughed every time they said her name, Weiner the Pooh!😂😂😂 But the whole middle of the book was just sad- and the hash tag nonsense really ruined it for me-I read to ESCAPE reality- I hate how horrible people are these days on social media, and to have to be inundated with such intense negativity in a romance!!??? No! Not into it! I was looking forward to the rest of the series but it's gonna have to go back to being like book one, or I'm out!
