About this listen

At first glance I probably seem like any good-looking guy in their late twenties. I have an obscene amount of confidence, a tattooed body sculpted by the Nordic gods, and I love the ladies as much as they love me. If I'm not base jumping or car racing, I'm chasing other devious thrills with the woman of the week. And that's fine if you're the average single guy.

But I'm not the average single guy. I'm Crown Prince Magnus of Norway, and my latest scandal just landed my entire royal family in hot water. Now the only way the monarchy can save face is for me to smarten up - publicly. If I don't, I'll no longer be heir apparent to the throne. So it's either I abdicate my future role as King or...I get married. To a blue-blooded stranger.

Enter Princess Isabella of the tiny country of Liechtenstein. Quiet, intelligent, and uniquely beautiful, Ella doesn't like this arrangement any more than I do, and she's not afraid to show it. She says I'm a womanizer, that I don't take anything seriously, that my ego should be taken down a few pegs, and I think she aims to make me miserable for the rest of my life.

But even as our arranged marriage becomes a war of wit and words, I'm determined to break through Ella's prim and proper façade to find the wild, sexual, and risk-taking woman underneath. I want to uncover the Queen inside her. The only question is-will she let me?

Contains mature themes.

Enjoyable

This was a light sexy romance. I enjoyed the dialogue and chuckling through various situations. Jeremy York is always worth listening to so a very enjoyable book.

Loved the story and performance

I loved this story and the performance. This was my first from this author. The narrators were not new to me and they did not disappoint me. They brought the characters to life. I’m a die hard romance reader/listener. This story will make you smile. I highly recommend!

Magnus and Ella - an arranged marriage of sorts

Crown Prince Magnus is of loose moral fibers, or so it would seem from his behavior. That is until he's caught unscrupulously behind the camera, causing great embarrassment to the royal family. He's given an ultimatum that has him reluctantly curbing his habits and searching for the last thing he wants - a bride.
Princess Isabella - or Ella as she prefers - just wants to fly anonymously under the radar for as long as she can. It's hard enough to make friends without have a father ruling over a small country. Even at University, her Lady-in-waiting acts more like a family friend than a chaperone.
Through a bit of deception and a sense of duty, Ella accepts an invitation to dinner with Magus' family which turns into an interview for betrothal. And that's where the fun and adventure begins.
I've never been one for Regency or Royal-themed romances, but this series peaked my interest. The second book does not disappoint. The characters were fully developed within the story and true to their traits. The book flowed well and was entertaining to say the least.
As I opted for the audiobook, the narrators really enhanced the enjoyment factor. Jeremy York and Stephanie Wyles worked well in the related book 'A Swedish Prince' and continue their success in this one as welll.

I loved the story.

The audible book kept me entertained.
The narrative voice for Ella was a bit off for what I wanted to imagine. Jeremy York, narrator for Magnus, completely captured the whole story. He is always one of the best narrators that is convincing.

Loved it again!

This is my second time listening to this, and it won’t be my last. I love the growth of the characters, and I love how feisty the female character becomes. The story is good because it’s based on a royal family, so that is a nice change this author never disappoints.

KH did it again!! ;)

I don’t like princely books but this is the second I’ve read by KH and I’m loving them. Vic and Mog are not your typical princes. They are very real have fears and make mistakes and the women they fall in love with are normal ladies with spleen! I think my favorite thing about this book was that there wasn’t subterfuge just life and it’s hurtles. Even the royal and rich live normalish lives have family drama and jump to conclusions just like the rest of us. This was just sweet and fun and I enjoyed this book just as much as The Swedish Prince. The audio version of both books are also well done and pleasant to listen to.

Don’t like the female voice

I’ve read many Karina Halle books and like her style of writing. However, this is my first audio book of hers and I am very disappointed in narration. It makes the dialogue sound awful. I didn’t care for the guy at first but he did grow on my and I can feel the emotion in his tone. I do not feel that way with Stephanie Wyles. She sounds a bit robotic and kinda annoying (sorry if that sounds harsh!) it just sounds very flat and kinda emotionless. I found myself wishing I had a readable copy.
