About this listen

A widowed father of two little girls. The beautiful nanny he's hired to raise them. A forbidden romance unlike any other.

When I first applied for the job I thought it would be like all the others: working as a nanny for an aristocratic family.

Then I got the job and found out how wrong I was. Now I'm the new nanny for two adorable little girls who happen to be princesses.

Their father is the widowed King of Denmark. And my new home? The royal palace in Copenhagen. Adjusting to my new life isn't easy but the hardest part hasn't been the girls who still grieve over the loss of their mother.

It's their father.

Cold, mysterious, and moody, with an icy stare that seems to penetrate your soul, King Aksel may have hired me to take care of his daughters but he wants as little to do with me as possible.

Yet the longer I share these palace walls with this man, the more that I'm drawn to him. His chiseled face and sexual swagger are only part of the package. It's in the long, intense glances at the dinner table, the way we'll brush up against each other in the halls, the rare glimpses of the man deep inside, like the sun passing through clouds.

But no matter how I feel about him, we can never be together.

You think it's bad enough being in love with your boss?

Try falling in love with a king.

Contains mature themes.

Little princesses, grumpy king, and a pet pig

One of my fave royal romances. It reminded me of The Sound of Music. The rebuilding of this family is heart melting.

Switched Back to Reading

The female narrator's voice was annoying and too childish. She was supposed to have an Australian accent and is was glaringly absent. Love this author and enjoyed the book

Good but disappointing

I expected a little bit more from this book. There are still some points that were unrealistic, even in fantasy, that I had to put the book down a couple times. I would’ve liked a little more sass from the female character. She was, but not persistent.

Was it worth a credit? No.

Will I read it again? No

Not the best

Love the story, not a fan of the narrators. The heroine is supposed to be Australian and the way she does the hero’s voice sounds like a cartoon. The male narrator is fine, but I ended up giving up.

Excellent Age Gap, Nanny Romance!!

Narrators: Stephanie Wyles, Jeremy York

I enjoyed this book the first and second time around. The story has all the elements I love.
But the female narrator's male voice was very cringy. It just didn't work for me and a lot of time it took me out of the story.
Also, the FMC is Australian in the story and the narrator does not speak with that accent, even when it talks about it in the story. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky, but if your main character is going to have an accent the narrator(s) should be able to do it.

100% enjoyed this story.

It definitely was a slow burn romance, I’m usually one who’s impatient when it comes to stories like this, but Aksel and Aurora were amazing and I loved the maturity shown. Instead of fighting and overreacting when things got rough, they talked and worked through it, despite the doubts. Loved her relationship with his children and loved the ending as well.

Very cute

It is exactly as advertised. Very cute story about a nanny and a prince. Nothing out of the ordinary or amazingly insightful but a very lovely book that is delightful.

I enjoyed Axel quite a bit. Aurora was cute until it came down to her past life (slight spoiler) which she should have spilled earlier. But it didn’t super take away from my enjoyment of the book.

I do want to say to the other review that boring would not be a word I would use to describe this and the C word is much more used outside the United States although I don’t remember it being said once. I typically prefer that word to the other myriad of lame names used and would have made a note of it.

Almost a 5

I really liked the story, it was engaging. It was a mix of sweetness and human trials. Not too deep, but more thoughtful than most books of this genre. The romance was HOT, and just the right amount... super luscious scenes but only after a respectable slow burn. It deals with a gamete of human issues... from single parenthood to loss to guilt to romance. There were also some LOL moments, and I loved the heroine’s attitude. There is a pet pig included that I just love. The one issue I had was the end... and I won’t give it away... I’ll just say it made a believable tale unbelievable. Also, the last 40 minutes should have been 15. I like a good Royals tale, but the plot and resolution would have made more sense with a generic millionaire hero. Narration was good, but for when the female voice did the hero... that was a little off. The man’s voice during the hot scenes was panty wetting. It was definitely worth my time. Thank you Karina for an enjoyable mental journey.

Sign me up for the Danes!

Narration is great and so is the storyline. Has a heart of gold like the nanny and the King alike. the graphics is perfect and the best 40 year old I've seen in a long time. LOL
