Keller and Johnny faced the combined forces of werewolf, witch, and human. Have they finally found peace? Sequestered away Kell adjusts to his existence as the WindWard, and Johnny slowly warms to being a member of the Coven again.
Everything changes when Johnny’s childhood friend, Ash, makes an unexpected appearance. With his help, Kell and Johnny seek to distract the Vigil while they search for an Ancient to help Kell control his powers.
Their plan quickly falls apart, separating Ash and Kell from Johnny. Thrust into the world with only each other, Ash and Kell must work together to evade capture, or worse. Along the way, they must contend with their rapidly growing feelings as they fight to survive.
In the end it’s clear their bond includes Johnny as well, forever altering not only the relationship between the outcast wolf-witch and his WindWard, but the world itself. Together, the three must face their own changing lives and the world that stands against them.

This is an intriguing paranormal story. The author does a good job of weaving an adventure full of emotions and action. Each man is strong and together they are something to be reckoned with. Magic brings them together and it can tear them apart. The three must find a way to fight the evil that stalks them as well as find the magic in themselves. I enjoyed the way the relationship between the men grew and became stronger. The love that they have shines through everything that they do. The story moves along at a good pace and the characters are strong. I like the ideas that the author has on the magical world, and I am eager to see this journey continue for these men. Narrator Kevin Earlywine does a nice job of giving these characters life and emotions.
