About this listen

Welcome to the magical town of Befana Bay, located on the enchanted shores of the Hood Canal in the Pacific Northwest.

Sage Easton is a driven witch. At just thirty years old, she’s an accomplished blown glass artist. Her glass creations are magical. Literally. But when a spell takes away her magic, suddenly Sage is unable to work and the only way to get it back is to learn to love life without her gift. Now she has to seek help from her old high school nemesis, the handsome and fun-loving man who has always gotten under her skin.

August West has one goal: enjoy life at all costs. He embraces the motto work to live, don’t live to work. He spends his nights bartending and his days talking to orcas, photographing wildlife, and helping out whoever needs a hand. So when Sage Easton asks him to help her out, he takes it as his personal challenge to show the workaholic how to embrace the beauty of Befana Bay. But the tables are turned when the magic of Befana Bay is threatened, and August is certain he knows exactly who’s to blame. He needs Sage’s help to track down the one responsible before life in Befana Bay is changed forever.

Good Story. Narration, characters and more.

Sage & August

Good Story. Narration, characters and more.

She doesn't have time for men or relationships. Her work is her life. Too bad her powerful witch grandmother doesn't agree. She's removed her power until she learns more than work. Of course, since she uses her power to make her exquisite glass-blown objects, she won't be working until she accomplishes her grandmother's wishes.

He's someone who knows about having a good time while working but only when necessary and he wants to work. With feelings she is fighting about August, he just might be the tutor she needs.

Magic isn't all that smooth in Befana. Thieves, historical feuds, and so much more. The problems keep growing while Sage and August's feelings for each other grow as well.

A new series with new characters along with a few old friends. I sure enjoyed it, hope you do as well.

Great start to a new series!

This is a captivating new series in the Witches of Befana Bay series. The return of familiar characters adds a delightful touch to the narrative. Sage Easton, a talented glass artist, faces a spell-induced loss of magic, leading her to seek help from the charismatic August West. Their dynamic and the enchanting Pacific Northwest setting create a perfect blend of mystery and romance.
The addition of orcas to the narrative added a heartwarming touch. I really enjoyed the mystery elements and it added depth to the storyline.
Gabra Zackman's skillful narration brings the characters to life, enhancing the magical elements. I was so lost in this enchanting town till the very end.

A great start to a new series!

A fabulous start to a new series! I could not stop listening to it, I ended up staying at the gym an extra hour just to hear the ending. I loved that we were introduced to a whole host of new main characters while still having a few familiar faces. ( was awesome that my favorite rockstar and movie star were featured). If you love Deanna Chase’s other books, or if this is your first time discovering her, you should 100% listen to this one. I am so excited for the rest of this series.

Romance with a side of supernatural

Bafana Bay is the home of the Easton witches. Sage Easton is a workaholic that never takes time for fun.

Augustf West is the local handyman and hottie. He’s had his eye on Sage Easton but never thought she was his type.

In order to get her powers back, her grandmother wants Sage to learn to have fun and not work so hard. She asks August to help her.

Will the two make it as a real couple, or just pretend?

Great new stories! Can’t wait to hear about Lily.

Fabulous new magical town!

Bafanna Bay on the coast of Washington is similar to Keating Hollow (another series by Deanna Chase, which I highly recommend you grab). Long standing covers with a central family. The character development is amazing. The relationships are also the best you'll ever listen to. I'm so excited for this new series, I can hardly wait for the next to be released. Gabriel Zackman is an amazing voice actor. Listening to her totally emerges you in the story. You will want to find a way to listen straight through because you feel like part of the story. I'm just thrilled with this fantastic start to a new series!

Love, laughter, and life!

A new town and series to explore! Sage is a workaholic who has forgotten how to enjoy life. August works long enough to pay the bills, but knows that living one's life is the most important thing. I found Sage to be a character I could relate to, needing to learn to prioritize, trying to please others, and wondering what life is going to throw at her next. August is a dream come true, respected in his trade, living life to the fullest and there for his friends. I loved their story and look forward to the next book in Befana Bay!

Deanna Chase has created a wonderful world that spans a few series. Befana Bay is the first book in a new series, but there are familiar characters here. I like the new town and characters. Magic entertained with a little mystery and romance kept my attention throughout the book. I could listen to Gabra Zackman all day.
