About this listen

What if the perfect life you envy was rotten to the core?

Three brand-new friends. Three very different families. Way too many secrets.

Gisela, Sally and Kate become close when they move into the same new housing estate. But behind their shiny front doors, each has something to hide.

Gisela’s Facebook profile is plastered with photos of her high-achieving son - #soproud; her teenage daughter - #bestfriends; and her gorgeous husband - #lovemyhubs. She’s the envy of everyone she knows, but how long can she keep covering up the truth?

Sally is married to her soul mate - or so the champagne glasses glinting in front of another tropical sunset seem to suggest. But what will it take for her friends to realise the life she claims to adore is breaking her heart?

Kate is a single mum. She uses Facebook to keep an eye on her teenage daughter but claims her own life is too boring to post anything herself. But maybe Kate wants to sit below the radar because she doesn’t want anyone to look too closely and start asking questions about her past....

Three lives collide in this gripping story about friendship, motherhood and marriage and the façade of perfection people present to the world.

I love her books. They always have ineresting dynamics of how women I react with one another. somehow we all feel that others' lives are so much better and reality is, we all have good days, bad days, difficult times, and our own struggles. I hope this book helps women feel better about their own lives.

another great book

We compare ourselves endlessly to others on Facebook. Three characters envy each other’s lives only to find only “highlights” are posted and real life is raw, heartbreaking and messy. As the mother of three - two college aged - I especially related to watching adult children take alternate paths. I will miss these women!

I so related to these characters!

was pretty good, but not thrilling, and saw the big secret coming a mile away. held ky interest and is quick

pretty good, not a "gripping page turner"

I have read A LOT of chick lit by British authors and this is definitely the best in its category. The characters are realistic, relatable, fallible and likable. My only issue is the flat, uninspired narration. This material deserved a more creative voice. But as far as the actual story goes, I could not recommend it more highly. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of Kerry Fisher’s novels.

First rate chick lit

Kerry Fisher has a brilliant way of words, emotions & plot. You will love this story from the woman’s point of view. Enjoy. Loved it on Audible!

As I recently began down the slippery slope of envy and self pity, I was so eloquently reminded of the realities of life and human nature. Thank you for a brilliantly written book! I look forward to sharing it and the discussions that follow!

Perfect timing

I think I would’ve enjoyed this book more if I had read it rather than listen to it on audible. The performance made it difficult for me to identify what character was speaking. I would’ve liked the narrator to use a little different in flexion or tone for each character in the book so I would have a better idea of who was speaking. Made it a bit confusing listening to this book

Very enjoyable listen.
