Publisher's summary

“Don’t practice with Beck.” His voice was low, barely above a whisper. His gaze locked on mine. “You want to practice? You practice with me.”

The hot, commitment-phobe surfer is going to find me a boyfriend… but now he wants me for himself.

In my small town bookstore, I’m surrounded by book boyfriends, but I've never had one in real life. At almost 30, I’m painfully shy, I’ve never been in love, and my bookstore isn’t breaking even. Something needs to change, and I know exactly who’s going to help me—Wyatt Rhodes, the guy everyone wants.

He agrees to be my relationship coach, but his lessons aren’t what I expected.

Between surfing, mortifying dates, a town obsession with orc romance, and revamping my store into romance-only, his lessons are more about drawing me out of my shell than changing me into someone new. While we search for my Mr. Right, Wyatt and I become friends.

The laid-back surfer is sweet and encouraging... until I go on a date with another guy, and Wyatt doesn't want me practicing with anyone but him.

Wyatt never wanted a relationship, but when we add praise-filled 'spice lessons' to the curriculum, it’s clear he wants me. He's leaving town and I'm staying to run my store, so it can't work, but that doesn't seem to matter to him.

He’s supposed to find me someone to fall for but instead, we’re falling for each other.

A sizzling, hilarious small town friends-to-lovers romantic comedy in duet narration! This is the second book in the Queen’s Cove series but can be listened to as a standalone.

This is one of my favorite books!

This must be the third or fourth time I’ve read this book. It’s a comfort read at this point! I LOVE the narrators (especially Hannah) and it’s one of my favorite stories.

Queens Cove is a magical place and a near perfect book series but I think Wyatt and Hannah are my favorite Rhodes brothers couple!

LOL funny one minute, swoon the next.

The audiobook is amazing. Duet narration is supreme. 5 stars for the audio!

I love Stephanie Archer books. The first half of this book is GOLD. I was laughing my ass off one second then swooning the next.

We get a surfer guy and a bookworm girl, (which tended to get overused by the end) who team up to get her to be a hot girl. Not just looks though, her personality was more the focus. Which I liked. And she helped him with social media. 💁🏻‍♀️

But I do have one qualm with romance books.. if the MMC calls the FMC “baby” I visibly cringe. I don’t know what it is. It’s definitely a ME thing. But I don’t like it. Nope.. I don’t. Especially in audiobooks when I have to hear him say “baby” during the spicy scenes. 🙉 eek.

I loved Hannah, up until the end during the third act conflict. I did not like how she acted. It really turned me off from her.

I can’t wait to get to the next one in the Queen Coves series.

Swoon-worthy love story

I loved this story! Wyatt and Hannah were adorable. I wanted to swoon for Wyatt and how much he cared for Hannah. Hannah really came out of her shell, encouraged by Wyatt, and i loved that. Wyatt grew the hell up and stopped hiding, and went after what he wanted (Hannah, obviously).

The narration was smooth and easy to follow. I listened while working, which made my work day so much more enjoyable! I probably could have sped it up a bit, but it was a good pace otherwise. I loved the narrators’ voices for these characters as well. Fit perfect for the characters!

Small Town Surfing + Steam 😮‍💨

DUET NARRATION is my FAV! You say duet narration and I jump. I’m an audiobook lover and I really don’t mind solo, dual or duet narration as long as the narrators do a good job. But if I have a choice, it will always be duet. (Where the male narrator speaks all the male lines and the female narrator speaks all of the female lines)

🏄 Small Town
🏄 Opposites Attract
🏄 Spice Lessons
🏄 Surfer

This book was the perfect spicy treat.

Hannah is the quiet, sweet, book girl and Wyatt is the hot, experienced surfer. They couldn’t be more opposite but they were perfect for one another.

I loved their friendship and how they grew together. I loved how Wyatt taught Hannah confidence in such a round about way.

And of course, I loved the narrators and how they told the story.

I couldn’t get into the male narrator’s

Good listen, love the female narrator! She knocked it out of the park, the males voice was too harsh didn’t fit the male character . Story was good.

5 Stars LOVED THIS ONE! ❤️ Even better than bk 1

Such a beautiful sweet FUNNY sexy rom com! Wyatt the sexy laidback surfer & Hannah the shy Bookworm make a deal to help each other out and slowly build a relationship. I have to admit the Wyatt’s voice bothered me a bit but I am very picky when it comes to narrating. It was just too monotone and robotic sounding at times. BUT I totally got past that quickly! This was more of a slow burn TO ME. I could not wait for them to hook up!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 STEAMY, Swoon Worthy, FUNNY, Romantic!!!💘

Bookworm and Professor 🫦 lessons and homework 🥵 and holy SHET the mouth on Wyatt. This man knows what he’s doing.

I read this with my eyeballs (it’s very rare I can sit down long enough to do this) and now I listened to it and 🥵🥰🥳 Wyatt and Hannah are gold. It’s such a deep story of fearlessness, finding your strength, and learning about love, about how there is beauty in change even when it’s scary.

Sweet, inexperienced Hannah. Such a good girl, such a good head on her shoulders, responsible, and driven… her mama’s bookstore, a dad who fears change, wanting to learn about herself and love. Who better to teach her how to “hot girl” than Wyatt. Surfer, strong, handsome, the guy everyone knows and wants. Their love story is built on friendship and trust and encouragement.

Bookworm and Professor 🫦 lessons and homework 🥵 and holy SHET the mouth on Wyatt. This man knows what he’s doing. The praise, the encouragement, the instructing… ughhhh I cannot handle. Not only that, he adores her. He lifts her up, speaks so much life into her. Camping with Wyatt, karaoke night, it’s the entire Wyatt for me. Damn, Hannah. DAMN.

Samantha is an absolute fave for me. She becomes the character she reads and completely embodies their emotions. Lee’s voice was not how I initially envisioned Wyatt’s voice but he fulfilled that role so well with deep raspy rumbley tones. They definitely elevated this book for me, and I already adored it from the getgo.

Tell me your favorite details in this book! I need someone to obsess over it with!!

Love,

Love this so much

So I love this book. I own the paperback, and I’ve read it multiple times. It’s one of my comfort reads. So when the author offered a free credit to download the audiobook in exchange for an honest review I jumped at the chance, because DUH! But I was also nervous. What if the narrators were bad? What if they ruined the story? What if they made all the best parts sound cringey?

Well, it turns out I had nothing to fear because they brought my favorite Queen’s Cove couple to LIFE! I tandem read this—so I’d listen, wherever I left off reading the book—and I began hearing the narrators’ voices when I would read the book. I even started to PREFER listening to it!

As for the story itself, it’s just cute as fuck? Wyatt was super sweet. Like SO SWEET to Hannah. Their conflict was pretty realistic and Hannah was only cringe in the first 15%. This is exactly what I want in a romance: a low stakes with solid chemistry. Just two people falling in looooooove. I usually do hate when either main character is sexually inexperienced, but this worked for me because that wasn’t dwelled upon.

Cute and spicy

love love love this story. it was so adorable, the characters were great, the spice was great. the narrators were mostly amazing, though I thought the male narrator sounded more like a brooding billionaire than a laid back surfer (personal opinion). otherwise I thought their performances all around were really good.
