Publisher's summary
For years, many have believed that the rise of superpowered mutants represents a threat to the survival of ordinary humans. The uncanny X-Men have dedicated their lives to proving that peaceful coexistence is possible. When a refugee spacecraft crashes on Earth, hounded by a warship bent on its destruction, the X-Men race to the rescue - only to learn that it carries beings of an entirely different order whose very existence may jeopardize life as we know it.
Now, facing a direct threat to all life on Earth, the X-Men grapple with an impossible moral dilemma - to defend the aliens whose only crime is being born different...or to embrace the methods of those who have long condemned mutantkind, joining forces with their own greatest persecutors to go hunt down their common enemy and end the evolutionary menace, once and for all.

Story
Hey, hey, book lovers, take off those big thick glasses - this is Deadpool speaking! Sorry Marvel, somethin' happened to your copy guy. Anyway, this is my first prose novel, and they got this dude Stefan Petrucha to write it. He's good people. He's written novels and comics. But here's the thing: This book is about dogs. Dogs that turn into big nasty monsters. And then I gotta kill 'em. Thing is, I like killing people - the ones that deserve it, anyway - but I won't kill dogs. So that's what we call a character dilemma.

Phenonemal story
Wow. What a phenomenal story. Big kudos to all involved esp the Narrator and her Night Crawler voice - it was spot on! It was also great to see/hear such a large array of the X-men roster

Great book to revisit
I remember reading this maybe 15 years ago in high school. It was really fun to revisit it. The voice actor did a great job, I particularly liked her Xavier, Rogue, and Nightcrawler. It’s a fun adventure with lots of nods to the comics for you to pick up on.

Meh
I tried to like it; I really did. Part of this story is prescient in times of COVID and a kind of discussion on civil liberties. But this turned out to be a tedious story that droned on. More irritatingly, the narrator, while excellent overall, kept saying, "mu'ant," "impor'ant," and "cer'ainly." Drove me crazy. 😂 I knew it is not a goodie at chapter 7; I stopped at chapter 10, not sure if I can go on. Wish I could get a refund.
