Love for The Yellow Wallpaper

This broke my heart in a very raw way. It’s rare to find stories so eloquent and compelling as this woman’s struggle.

Oddly Riveting

I loved this one. It's mysterious and unusual, even a bit creepy. The graphic descriptive details made it impossible not to visualize fully. My mind's eye was aghast to the point of needing sunglasses for all that Yellow Wallpaper.

One of the Greats

Very nicely produced, The audio is clear and I was impressed by how the intro music set the tone. Cynthia Erivo gives a wonderful performance. This tale holds a special place in my heart as it is one of the first stories I've read with an unrelible narrator who suffers from mental illness--it leaves for a lot to unpack and merits a second pass if it's your first time hearing the story.

Interesting allegory

The ending is a sad victory for the woman. {SPOILER} She is free but has lost her mind. I loved this! Highly recommend.

A must-read/listen

If you haven’t taken in this content, you should because a surprising amount of pop culture references will make a lot more sense.

Excellent

Creepy, eerie but also sad. Well worth the hype surrounding this short story. I'm glad I finally read this.

Trapped

Can we call the yellow wallpaper an allegory of a misunderstood or ignored depression? I thought it fantastic. It is a well written representation of a woman cry when trapped in others selfish or blind relationship with a partner’s depression. Loved the voice and cadence of the reader.
