About this listen

What if...

Someone you barely knew asked you for a favor.

What if...

They needed you to be something you weren’t, in exchange for nothing. Unless you count a mouth full of lies and a half-broken heart. Faker. Pretender. Liar. There are worse things to be called.

So would you do it? Would you?

Daphne Winthrop did.

And you’re about to find out what happens in the end.

Talk nerdy to me

I discovered Sara Ney in the Smartasses anthology and thought she was pretty funny. I love nerdy rom/coms and this is really a good one. The MMC Dexter is unashamedly nerdy and the FMC Daphne is a closet geek. Ms. Ney does a perfect job of inching their attraction forward until it explodes in a flurry of tantalizing Space Movie banter. That scene is stellar. (haha, see what I did there? but it's totally true.) And those twins are a riot. I'll be reading the other books in this series for sure. I enjoyed this novella more as an ebook. The audio narration is subpar, but for the price and the fun it's worth it (Free with Audible Premium Plus or $2 with Whispersync).

Match made in geek heaven! ❤️❤️

Short & sweet read!! I binged the whole series! Finished each in under a day! Daphne and Dexter are like a match made in Geek heaven! All the relationships in these books all started on a lie. Enjoyed them all! Narrators did a great job. Male narrator’s female voices were cracking me up though.

The best book of the Liar series

Very happy to say I actually enjoyed this finale book... Since I hated book 1, felt book 2 was just average, but this one is very cute. sweet story. Although the sexual scene description is a bit awkward.
Narration is okay, but the male voice is so effeminate it's kinda icky.

Delightful story, impeccable narrators!

This read had me laughing out loud while enjoying the internal dialogue of both MC’s as well as some of the antics of some of the secondary characters. I do have to say that I picked up on some mistaken derogatory attitude toward the South. I have lived all over the country and the 1st bow tie I ever saw was in Denver. While I have always had to live in major cities because of my career, I have never heard anyone actually talk like the FC’s imitation of a southern lady while in the South. Of course, when you get into the smaller towns of any area, north, south, east, west, many locals have unintelligible accents sometimes. But there IS something indescribably delightful about a man in bow tie, suspenders with a “beta” attitude!

After reading a few of the reviews harshly criticizing the narrators, especially the male narrator, I approached the sample with reservations. I found I had to agree with the protestations of the reviewers that felt the criticism too harsh and unfair. The narration was faultless IMO.

Book three of the series..so sweet

Lives this story of two apparent nerds who enjoy Battleship Galactica, Stars and all things considered nerdy
He is a financial wiz and has no self confidence with women and twin sisters who are entertaining
She is beautiful but the last of her friends looking for love and she finds it
Great ending to the trilogy

The female narrator needs acting lessons

The story itself was cute. Glad the email addresses weren’t read as much as the first book. The female narrator made the book very hard to listen too. She sounded like she was reading stayed in one monotone. Alexander was great as usual but Elizabeth should read self help or sleep books.
