About this listen

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends with Us, Colleen Hoover’s bestselling Slammed series comes to its gripping conclusion. There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances, and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong.

Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas, and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

A Good Conclusion to the Series

What did you love best about This Girl: A Novel?

Finally, a great narrator. Thank you for bringing Kirby into the mix. He made the last book. I also enjoyed the conclusion to the series.

Have you listened to any of Kirby Heyborne’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to his books. He always does a great job. His performance in this book was consistent with his other books, very good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The Slams very awesome! Well done!

Enjoy a trilogy

I enjoy a good trilogy, but this got a bit repetitive. Enjoyed it from a light story perspective.

Too much summarizing book 1

More than just a recap of the 1st book. Uninterested in essentially hearing the same story twice.

The readers voice when he does lake's southern accent drove me nuts. made it hard to finish the book. but other than that it was ok.

It was ok

Once I start listening, I can’t stop. It was repetitive. If you read the first book then you know everything about the third book. Not one of my favorites.

Good book, frustrated that the narrator changed

I really enjoyed the story, and the narrator was good. I just listened to books 1 and 2, and I found it really, really distracting that the narrator in this book was such a different voice and accent for the same characters.

4 stars

Enjoyed the first two a little bit more, this one was just a recap of most of what had already happened. Didn’t enjoy the narrator as much either. Still a huge Colleen Hoover, but this wasn’t one of my favorites.

Repetitive

Only a few new pieces most of that was just detailed of what happened in the previous books.

Rerun

I love the story the first time I listened in the series books one and two but this was more a rehash. Made me sad. I love C.H. Books. If I had picked it up without the others it would have been good.
The over the top southern accent for Lake was obnoxious.

Love the ending!

It took me a while to get past the voice of the Narrator since I listened to book 2’s audible as well. The same character with a different voice just didn’t sit well.

The book though, was amazing. I loved this series and the epilogue was just what the ending of Will and Lake’s story needed 😍
