Beatrice De Novo thought she had left the supernatural world behind... for the most part. But when the past becomes the present, will she leave her quiet life in Los Angeles to follow a mystery she thought had abandoned her? Where has Giovanni Vecchio been, and why has he returned? Giovanni has his own questions, and he's looking to her for answers.
This Same Earth reunites Beatrice and Giovanni to continue their search through the past while both wrestle with the future. When the world as you knew it has changed forever, is there any way you can turn back?

I wasn’t wild about book 1 and I still went ahead and purchased book 2 - I guess I had enough curiosity to find out where Hunter went with this series. Still an interesting premise that had disconnects in it’s execution, but not as many as in book 1. I’ll admit to skipping book 3 altogether and skimming through book 4 before writing this review. These 4 books could have been 2 if edited well. At the very least, whittled down to 3. This might have caught many of the disconnects. Oh well.
If you have lots of patience for stories that ramble, you might like this world of vampires that have affinity for one of the 4 elements: water, earth, air, and fire. And the heroes foiling the evil vampire’s plot to take over the world of the vampires; which, by default, also means humans. Gio left Bea alone for 5 years to finish her doctorate and live on her own for her personal growth. Now he’s decided it’s time to come into her life to win her back.
Pearlman did an ok job of narration. I just can’t say if it was Pearlman or Hunter that made it feel so uneven. And I’m not spending the time to figure it out.
More of the same as book 1
