Publisher's summary

Life can change in a flash. Marriage and a baby wasn’t Amy Forsythe’s college plan. After a shotgun marriage glued together by her son, she’s convinced that love isn’t meant for her. Now nearing 40 and single for the first time since her senior prom, her friends are pushing her to date. Her teenager isn’t thrilled by the idea and neither is Amy.

Silver fox Thomas Popov isn’t looking for "the one". He found her decades ago. And fell apart when she died. At 53 with a new job, a new city, and an empty nest, he’s focused on climbing the corporate ladder.

When a softball accident lands Thomas in Amy’s dental chair, sparks fly. Lightning doesn’t strike twice. But love might. This time is different.

Light-hearted love story

Light-hearted love story between two singles who both already have children and lives of their own.
Foreseeable story, but with a good pace. If you have children in their teens, you'll recognise yourself a time or two.
Very good narrators!

Believable Heartwarming, romantic & lustfull

Great story. The older characters & real life challenges parents have dating after divorce a welcomed theme. I love romance novels, always reading about younger love stories is frustrating & sad at times!

An accidental romance

This was my first book from Mae Wood and also the narrator, Emma Wilder.

I loved the book. It was well written and the story was definitely believable with slightly older characters than most romance novels. That was a refreshing change of pace for me.

Narration was excellent by Emma Wilder and Sebastian York.

Wonderful!

I absolutely love a mature romance and 39/53 isn’t old, they are real adults living life!

Mae Wood brings her characters to life on the page......you become totally invested and can’t wait to turn the page! I had already read this and when it became available in Audible, I wanted their voices to become real to me.

Emma Wilder and Sebastian York bring a beautiful story to life!

Bravo Mae, Emma and Sebastian! I want more of Thomas and Amy!

Beautiful, Irresistible Romance!

I absolutely adored this beautiful second chance at love romance! It was so refreshing to read about mature adults who are given a second chance to get it right, and find love again. They don't have ex's who were awful, and there is no crazy drama, just two loving, caring people, putting their children before themselves. Both Amy and Thomas are single parents, and successful in their careers. They had an unusual meet cute that was crazy, and cute, and unexpectedly for them, leads to more. They weren't looking for love, but their connection was undeniable. I loved their excitement over exploring the chemistry between them and their need to balance that line of being together with demanding careers, and easing their children into the idea of them dating again. I loved both Amy and Thomas, they had fun together, and had amazing chemistry that leaped right off the page, and Thomas was especially swoony!
Narrators, Emma Wilder, and Sebastian York were amazing as they brought this sweet and steamy story to life! They were so perfectly cast as Amy and Thomas, nailing each character with all their strengths and vulnerabilities, making them feel very real and honest.
This story had the perfect balance of humor, heart, and steam, and I loved every minute of it!

2nd chance love

This was such a refreshing story. I loved the characters. I loved the narrators. Loved the older characters and the way that Amy and her ex husband had a civil divorce. So many great things about this book.

Mature romance perfection!

I loved this story so much. So refreshing to have a realistic story focused on main characters in their late 30s to early 50s. Amy and Thomas have real world concerns but what I love most is how the author details their courtship. Thomas woos Amy and you can practically feel the butterflies she feels and the anticipation he has when they give in to their desires.

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder are perfectly cast. They bring the all the emotions to their roles and Mae Wood gives them plenty of great material to work with. It’s a sweet and sexy romance filled with hope that love will win in the end.

LOVED. THIS. SO. MUCH.

This Time is Different was one of my very favorite books of 2017 and now it’s audiobook has that same place on my 2019 list.

Emma Wilder and Sebastian York do an amazing job of bringing. Amy Forsyth and Thomas Popov to life. They capture the humor, romance and emotion so perfectly. This was the perfect companion on a car trip, which at the end I didn’t want to get out of the car. I’m in love with these characters all over again.

Highly Recommend

The narrators did a great job. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for older H/h and a great story with low angst.
