Publisher's summary

Naya James is a confident woman who also happens to be an exotic dancer. She doesn't care if people judge her, just so long as they don't disrespect her. Life has been good, but when two dancers from her club are kidnapped, Naya risks everything to uncover the truth.

Wheeler is the black sheep of the family, evident from his extensive tattoo collection to his dark personality. Nothing like his twin brother, Ben, who can do no wrong. Wheeler's pack loyalty is put to the test when Austin orders him to act as a bodyguard for a woman he's despised for years - one who presses his buttons every chance she gets.

Devoured this in one sitting

This book 5 is about Wheeler a brother to Austin from book 1. And the heroine is Naya

Wheeler is a twin to Ben . There is a few problems that wheeler thinks . One is Wheeler considers himself an outsider to the Weston Pack . Second big problem, a bigger problem than that is his twin brother Ben . Ben is a gambler it’s always on the next one will be my big payout (Bens thinking ) and Wheeler always has to bail him out .
Wheeler has tattoos everywhere because he needs to cover the marks from cage fighting with the tattoos .
Naya is stuck in the same prison as Wheeler but they don’t know that . Naya is a tiger which is unusual.
Nicole Poole is amazing as usual. I can to her all day. She brought this story to life

WOW! Thriller!

This one definitely had action packed beginning to end. Naia and Wheeler are both the anti-heros this series deserves. Love the whole scarred past meets stripper with a heart of gold theme. Getting to a heroic ending that is very satisfying.

Great story, not so great narrator

I have listened to each of these books in order and have enjoyed the stories for each one. I don't have a favorite just yet, I'm thinking it will be Maize's story, I'm still listening to book 5. The only hiccup for me is the narrator. I mean, Maize is 11 in this book. Why does she still sound like a 3 year old? April sounds like a breathy speaking airhead and has in each book. The screeching is also excessive. I continued listening to the books because I enjoy the story but wishing I had read them instead. The narrator doesn't quite ruin it for me but it's pretty darn close.

Strong women

I do love a brooding, wounded male hero--as is Wheeler. His past gives him a stronger capacity to love deeply. And the best female lead absolutely must be smart and strong, which this book has in Naya. Unique to her is how UNAFRAID she is of her femininity and sexuality. She is a breath of fresh air! This is a great book.

Each of Dannika Dark's series hold together so well because of the "Cheers" aspect--it's a place to (vicariously) go "where everybody knows your name" and they're always glad you came. I could listen to her series every dang day because of how respectful the core characters are toward each other--warts and all. Dannika has a lot to say about the nature of intimacy and all of our need for connection. And she shows it with humor and heart.
