About this listen

From a #1 New York Times bestselling author, the 6:20 Man returns, this time sent to the Pacific Northwest to aid the in a complicated FBI case—and he’s about to come face-to-face with his nemesis, the girl on the train.

Travis Devine has become a pro at accomplishing any mission he's given. But this time it’s not his skills that send him to Seattle to aid the FBI in escorting orphaned, twelve-year-old Betsy Odom to a meeting with her uncle, who’s under federal investigation. Instead, he’s hoping to lay low and keep off the radar of an enemy–the girl on the train.

But as Devine gets to know Betsy, questions begin to arise around the death of her parents. Devine digs for answers, and what he finds points to a conspiracy bigger than he could’ve ever imagined.

It might finally be time for Devine and the girl on the train to come face-to-face. Devine is going to find out the difference between his friends and his enemies–and in some cases, they might well be both.

This is the third book in this series and I feel like the books are only getting better. This series revolves around the MMC Travis Devine. There has been one overarching story arc dealing with "the girl on the train" which stems from an event that occurred in the first book. Other than that, each book has its own story line that involves a separate case that is wrapped up by the end of the book.

Travis is working for DHS and we are learning through these books that he is an extremely competent and talented agent with a defined set of skills, but an even stronger sense of honor. In this book, he is dealing with a case that doesn't make sense and has him trying to walk a fine line between interagency craziness. Everyone seems to have a hand in this case- the FBI, CIA, DHS, and even the Seattle PD. But it also involves a 12-year-old girl and Travis finds that he cannot walk away when he realizes that she is in danger.

There are many hidden dangers in this case and in this book, we finally see the resolution of that story arc from book one.

I enjoyed the heck out of it and am excited and hopeful that this is not the end of the series.

Great story. The development of Travis Devine has been great. Along with the girl on the train can’t wait for the next installment and I hope she’s in it more as well. Let’s get going , can’t wait!

Pretty good Baldacci book. Performance was really good, I liked the multiple people doing voices. The plot was ok, fast paced, but think the author rushed this one a bit (a few plot holes that you don’t normally see with a Baldacci book)
